iHome gives further details on AirPlay-ready speakers

Jan 5th 2011 2:53PM (TUAW.com)
yep, that's the same one I have in my car.. Works great, except that it automatically triggers playback on my iphone as soon as it is in range. a bit annoying to have to pause playback if I don't want to listen to it right then.

iHome gives further details on AirPlay-ready speakers

Not the first Airplay speaker -- any wireless speaker using a2dp works fine, and triggers the Airplay icon on an iphone. So does a bluetooth-to-dock connector adapter.

Comcast delivers data usage meter in Portland, Oregon

Dec 2nd 2009 5:26PM (Engadget)
@Argent99 I'm in Portland, and I couldn't get it to show up either. Turns out it's not even for everyone in Portland - you have to be specially invited. So sayeth the Comcast poobah that posts over at DSLReports.

News apps! Get your News apps!

Jun 29th 2009 12:18PM (TUAW.com)
An entire article about news apps and you don't mention the NYT or WSJ, the two most important in the App Store? wtf? A Rachel Maddow app is hardly "news". It's entertainment, if that's your cup of tea.

Typical TUAW fare here.

Attention world: The iPhone dislikes moisture

Apr 9th 2009 2:15PM (TUAW.com)
The "moisture sensor" does not de-activate the phone. It is merely a way for Apple to tell that the phone has gotten wet, in order to deny you coverage under the warranty when you take it in for service. And no, most gyms don't have policies banning phones with cameras. If they did, no one would be able to take their phone in.

Bob Lutz: Volt will survive and prosper

Apr 1st 2009 2:00PM (Autoblog Green)
There isn't anything on the market yet, nor will there be in the next few years, to compete with the Volt. Tesla cars are $100,000+, and the "cheaper" $50K model is vaporware. And even if they weren't, those cars are solely electric - what happens when you inevitably run out of juice on the freeway? The Volt's combination of a gas-powered generator and plug-in capability are what make it unique, and nothing else out there compares. The Prius is pathetic by comparison.
