Mar 3rd 2010 3:39PM (Engadget)More Sony Alpha 500, 850 info leaked?
Aug 25th 2009 11:30AM (Engadget)I hope the specs are accurate, it would be a great upgrade from my A300... definitely a purchase for me. I just hope the pricing isn't outrageous. I could see spending $800 or $900 for the body alone, but not much more than that.
Sony Alpha 380 gets lukewarm reviews, must be someone's perfect bowl of porridge
Aug 25th 2009 9:10AM (Engadget)Hopefully the rumored A500 and A550 will be the next step forward for the APS-C sensor Sony DSLR's I've been waiting for.

May 25th 2009 1:36PM (Engadget)Sony Alpha 230, 330, and 380 DSLRs out on May 19?
May 15th 2009 7:54PM (Engadget)The D90 sensor completely crushes the sensors of the A300 and A350 which are the same sensors being used in these new cameras. http://is.gd/AfUe
The price of the D90 (body only) is cheaper than the SRP of the A380 listed here as well. So, while price alone shouldn't determine the camera purchase... if you can get a better image for less money, why wouldn't you?
I was really hoping that these cameras would be used to flesh out Sony's low-end amateur line. Maybe priced at $399, $499 and $599. Three models for entry-level DSLR users to start off with. But at this pricing, they are competing with much higher-end models like the D90 and 50D and are more expensive than the T1i and D5000. It just doesn't make sense, especially when these cameras bring nothing new to the table compared to the current A200/300/350 lineup. Does HDMI out and a new GUI really validate a bump in price of two or three hundred dollars?
Sony Alpha 230, 330, and 380 DSLRs out on May 19?
May 15th 2009 4:10PM (Engadget)...what!?
I really really hope there is some mistake or there is an unknown feature that has yet to be revealed because the pricing for these cameras makes no sense at all.
I shoot a LOT of photos with my A300 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/zero101/) but this really makes me worried about the future of the Sony DSLR line. Maybe it is time to look at the Nikons....
