@BlueRajasmyk Damage and the interviewee are certainly not wrong in what they are getting at. In this game, the perceived "opponent" is just the result of environmental rules. It is not actively trying to beat the player, so there is no AI in the colloquial sense that we traditionally associate with RTSs.
In this case, it would be like calling a physics engine an AI, or a procedural dungeon generator an AI. You could argue that it's technically true, but not in the sense that players generally understand it--the game is making no effort to "win," as there is no actual opponent.
@covertpetersen Also, according to VG Chartz, the 360 version of ME2 had just over 400,000 pre-orders. The number of launch platforms will certainly help this time around, but even on just 360, ME3 is nearly doubling ME2's pre-orders.
@Rubbishy Me I'm betting this is the case. For those who haven't played the demo, you use the in-game currency to buy randomized booster packs which unlock the various characters, weapons, mods, and such. I think all of these tie-ins come with a similar pack of randomized items.
If this is the case, then I think we all need to calm down a little; it sounds like that collector rifle is the only exclusive item here--and it comes with everything. People who buy this stuff are probably just getting a nice little multiplayer bonus. Probably. I'm going to wait before getting pissed off over something this silly.
@GreenElf I played their remake of 2, but 1 has already had an official remake. Not that it couldn't benefit from some modernization, but 2 was the only entry with a significant barrier to modern gamers.
If they do remake 1, I will probably end up playing it again, though =).
@Mujokan I hear it automatically unlocks it, automatically downloads the dlc, and then automatically forces you to play ME3 using that armor exclusively, so yeah, better safe than enjoying yourself.
@eat it Of course there are improvements to be made, especially with controller navigation. As a gamer, I, too, feel that I should be miffed about the games section being a fraction of a second farther away from the home screen. I have only rarely needed to venture that far to access the content I'm seeking, though, because the games I want to play are generally either in the tray or in the quick launch section.
The couple of times that I have used it, however, I have found that I do genuinely dislike the new games section; it is no longer as easy to find what I am looking for. I can admit defeat and tell the Kinect to do it for me, but as it loads up, I can't shake this feeling that all it really heard was: "This is my glowy spot, please don't shoot it."
@Ravenok Because it isn't, in case that was too subtle--I rather like the new dash. I bet this error has more to do with the new cloud profile system than with the new dashboard itself.
@GeraltRivia I know; my biggest problem is that they've made it too easy to navigate with Kinect, so now it's difficult for me to complain about how inconvenient the new dashboard is =/.
