I bought this off of Xbox Games On Demand mainly due to the fantastically great review you guys gave it, along with my curiosity over this, since I'd heard about it in the past.
This game was money exceptionally well spent. Absolutely fantastic storytelling, a great selection of characters, and wonderful ambiance. The only thing that needed a little work were the facial animations, but apart from that I felt this game was great.
If you are the kind of person that doesn't like story to interfere with your gameplay too much, this is not for you. If you think the story is so crucial it needs to LITERALLY interfere with your gameplay, then this will have you sold.
All in all, an exceptionally clever premise for a game wrapped in some great and intuitive combat mechanics makes for a brilliant sell.
If you are confused towards the end, the DLCs do help to wrap things up a little, especially The Writer. HOWEVER, don't play the DLC's before finishing the main story, otherwise it gets completely spoiled.
> Want a death bolt that turns your foes into zombies? go ahead! Want a ice shower than rains ice down? go nuts! How in the HELL can you say >theres not many spells!?
This feature alone has now sold it to me. After playing Two Worlds (which was one of the most hilarious gaming experiences I've had) I was ready to be underwhelmed.
Needless to say, I will be very happy to pick this up come January 25th.
I reckon we petition to get the movie we want, not some slapdash attempt to grab our money. It's just some random movie with Uncharted's name on it at the moment.
Use the hashtag #UnchartedPetition if you want to spread the word. I know a few people have emailed their dislike to SCEA and other places. Maybe if enough people petition, they'll do it the way we want them to do it.
And we're the ones that count, right? It's our money after all.
Visceral: 'A lot of discussion' over live-action Dead Space film
Jan 30th 2011 8:31PM (Joystiq)To be honest, I agree with Visceral in that this is such a great IP that I would want to wait for someone to do it right.
My personal pick?
Guillermo Del Toro.
