V-MODA re-ups Vibe Duo headset for iPhone with music control

Oct 2nd 2007 1:50PM (Engadget)
Well said, Pilgrim. Never understood that about people on the web. With anything on the net (items, computer platforms, pop stars, etc), if you take the time to write about them, even negatively, you evidentially "do" care about said subject. It's definitely arguable that sometimes, no interest/reaction at all is the worst thing for a company/person.

Because unlike the old iPod, the controls aren't obvious (or have tactile feedback) unless you unlock the phone from sleep (or double click the home button as of the update). Much faster to currently change songs with the current headphones, or a set of headphones with a wider range of controls would be nice.

Custom iPhone ringtone hacking instructions prepped for noobs

Big difference between hacker workarounds and updates Apple puts out themselves.

Kind of reminds me of the whole "Windows on Intel Macs" last year...hackers found a roundabout way of doing it, then it all was for nothing when Apple released the much simpler Bootcamp.

XM facing subscriber, sponsor backlash over Opie & Anthony suspension

Evidentially enough people know about them as this story is getting around...I was surprised to see it on Engadget myself.

> Guess if you are dumb enough to pay money to listen to radio

I know, that'd be just as dumb as people paying to watch cable or satellite....err, wait a moment....

>Crude does not equal funny.

That's not up for you to decide (for others, anyway). If someone is laughing, then it's funny in some way, even if it's not to you.

Except they never mentioned "rape" in the segment, something that agenda-individuals and anti-O&A folks are conveniently overlooking. It's in the same context about saying that someone would like to have sex with (insert famous model here). Besides, the whole thing is such a completely absurd statement (come on, Condi Rice?!?) that it can't be taken too seriously. With Imus, O&A, or anything like the Janet Jackson superbowl incident, the question should be "Will I care about this five years from now?" No? If special interests didn't bring this up, the comments simply would have slid by and no one would be talking about this.

Joystiq and Engadget live at Sony's 2007 GDC keynote

Mar 7th 2007 2:21PM (Joystiq)
""I don't like Britney Spears. So I certainly don't go hanging out in her forums/whatever unlike the folks here""

"I would if they had stories about her on the main page of the only game site I can view at work.

But sure....just say us working folk are obsessed if it makes you feel better."

Has nothing to do with working folks or saying something to feel better, the very participation in this thread of anyone - myself included - shows interest in the subject matter.

I'll admit I should have worded above that statement better as it reads out wrong. Britney/forums was only the analogy (and I didn't mean people here literally hang out on her forums or whatever)...I meant that if people really didn't give a crap about something, they wouldn't participate in it. Like the PS3 here, the fact that people are taking the time to rag on ANYTHING in this thread reveals their obsession. Otherwise they would not bother.

Joystiq and Engadget live at Sony's 2007 GDC keynote

"Anti-Playstation Wii/360 fanboys, please just get the hell out of this thread if you're just gonna make your stupid fanboyish comments. Its a Sony keynote get it? If you want to go on about the Wii being so great then go and do it on a nintendo forum, stop wasting bandwidth here. Assholes"

It's because they're obsessed, no matter what they say to the contrary. Yes, they're obsessed. Although they bash on the system, the fact that they're participating here betrays that.

I don't like Britney Spears. So I certainly don't go hanging out in her forums/whatever unlike the folks here.

Graphing the perceived Wii drought by the numbers

Feb 22nd 2007 11:24AM (Joystiq)
This isn't surprising at all, consoles ALWAYS have drought periods after their initial release. Took the 360 a long time to come around. The DS had little to no titles for roughly after six-nine months. It seems like I was waiting around forever for something quality to come out for the Playstation 2 (Twisted Metal Black, June 2001.) This is just the way of things.
