Sooo, try not to generalize next time. Just because the ACL is against this doesn't mean every Christian is, they are just a lobby group.

Brian you are correct. 3d software and game engines as a whole are much more suited to creating and rendering inorganic things; like cities rather than a forest.

However I'm dissapointed because despite this Crysis had the most gorgeous looking tropical environments whereas this is just another boring grey-brown city

This is exactly why we need an R-rating. Here's another game that's been sneaked into getting a lower rating.

Nice job, Mr. Atkinson. Now instead of it coming into australia with an r-rating (effectively making it illegal to sell to kids) its not got an MA15+, meaning parents aren't even going to care that their kids are playing it.

Yes, another game banned, it sucks, we know. Blame Micheal Atkinson, instead of coming up with smart-arse comments about australia being a nanny-state. This guy wont get elected next time, lesson learned.

I usually try to judge a country by more than what videogames you can play there, and by reading more about it than what gets posted on joystiq.

As soon as this Micheal Atkinson guy gets voted out this won't be a problem anyway. I think the main problem here though is the rule that says it has to be unanimous. Majority should be enough

It's true that AutoCAD and maya are made for different purposes. But anything you can do in autoCAD you can do in maya/3dsmax. I learnt autoCAD at the same time i leant 3dsmax and in my experience the skills are transferable.

If your serious about doing some game design then 3dsmax IS the "autoCAD game-design" software you're talking about.
They follow roughly the same principles.
