Games shipping this week

Jul 10th 2006 9:27AM (Joystiq)
The Ship is shipping. The Ship is shipping. The Ship is shipping.

...man, that was hard.

Games surpassing TV, bringing us closer to 'real' sport

Jul 7th 2006 1:25PM (Joystiq)
Could we also be one step closer to replacing the actual game. With technologies like eyetoy and the new Wiimote in addition to the cooperative play that is made possible over the internet.

How long before we play a game of pick up football online when it's cold outside and we don't feel like freezing.

How long before your cousins and uncle come over at thanksgiving and you play Sega tag football.

We won't see anything like this at E3 next year, but with the game developers striving for realism, could it be very far off?

Final Fantasy III DS wi-fi feature revealed: emailing?

Jul 7th 2006 12:38PM (Joystiq)
well j., you're not alone. I too am an adult DS owner who knows no one else that has one. So, if you happen to be in Chicago, maybe we should get together and figure out what's so great about ds communication.

Immersion's overly biased, pro-PS3 rumble survey

Jul 6th 2006 3:59PM (Joystiq)
This coming from Joystiq, the king of unfair and one-sided online polls.

Yes, the poll is biased as are about 90% of online polls.

Do they have a point? Of course they do.

Should they try to make that point known to preserve future rumble capabilities and moreover to benefit themselves as a company? Why wouldn't they?

Toshiba man hints at internal HD-DVD 360

Jun 30th 2006 2:40PM (Joystiq)
Wow an internal HD-DVD drive in my xbox 360! That's just what I've been waiting for!

.....That's the thing that play 8-track tapes and reel to reel audio...right?

Goldeneye tested on 12 year-old, fails 'timeless' test

Jun 29th 2006 5:55PM (Joystiq)
There are so many things wrong with that test I don't know where to begin.

As far as timelessness goes for 007, I guess I never thought of it that way, although I do agree. I also talk about 007 being a pioneer title. I also think that when you get it right the first time stop trying to fix it. There was no need to further this genre. Every first person shooter since was a waste of my time. (alright, I admit, that was an overstatement meant to rile of the fanboys)

Star Wars 30th anniversary game, TV shows update

Jun 29th 2006 2:42PM (Joystiq)
I think after 30 years it's time to let it go. No more Star Wars anything. The more things that come out for Star Wars the worse they get...and I'm not just talking games.

Let the downpour hateful comments from Star Wars geeks commence.

How much would you spend on a PS3 game?

Jun 28th 2006 1:19PM (Joystiq)
If PS3 games were to cost over $60 each (and it wouldn't surprise me at all), then I would be forced to hold off even longer on my PS3 purchase. In fact, if their pricing keeps following suit, I may not have one until after the launch of the PS4.

Up to 7,000 PSOne-to-PSP titles by 2007, reports UK PSP Magazine

Jun 28th 2006 1:10PM (Joystiq)
This may finally make the PSP worth owning.

If they don't expect us to pay gobs of money for each of these titles that we already own. Knowing Sony however, I have a feeling they will expect that from us. They have already tried to get us to purchase movies on DVD, UMB, and now Blu-ray. How many times do they expect us to pay for the same thing?

I got off the subject here, and for that I am sorry.

Pink is the new DS Lite

Jun 27th 2006 10:41PM (Joystiq)
Orange or yellow...I'd settle for green. The color doesn't really matter that much as long as they keep putting out awesome games for it.
