Joyswag: Halo: Reach 'Legendary Edition' giveaway
Sep 14th 2010 7:16PM (Joystiq)Destination Arcade: New Xbox Live Arcade 'visual browser'
Jul 6th 2010 4:11PM (Joystiq)I somewhat agree with you, but I think those hurdles are there for a reason. They want you to start on other panes, so you have to browse through to reach what you want. Admit it, something on those panes has at least once caught your eye....and if it catches your attention, there is a remote possibility that you will end up purchasing something related to the ad.
My gripe with the current xbox UI is the slow Guide. This is the menu that we are supposed to use IN GAME, and it is slow as molasses. Playing a multi-player game and trying to check a message is utterly ridiculous. Then there is the whole quick launch debacle, where a simple list of games can take upwards of 30 seconds to appear, at that is using a 20 gig HD.
Oh and PLEASE give us the ability to choose the sorting method when comparing games with friends, the whole idea of comparing games with someone, based on the chronological order that THEY played the games is about the dumbest thing Ive ever seen. Try comparing achievements with someone who has 100k+gamerscore, it will take you 5 minutes just to find the game you are interested in, if you are lucky enough to not skip right past it. Just make it sortable using the Y button: alphabetical, their chronological order, your chronological order, their score, and your score.

Jun 7th 2010 2:18PM (Engadget)nope, because that would only work for this single event
I really dont understand why a new post is required for each item. A live blog and an event summarization post which links into the live blog at the time stamp of the announcement would be a fine solution, but it would never be implemented since it wouldnt generate as many hits.
Netflix app headed for the iPhone
Jun 7th 2010 1:43PM (Engadget)You have to admit this system of live blogging and creating a new post about every topic, and then creating another post just to summarize the posts which were initially covered in the live blog is getting a bit redundant.
Its especially annoying, since the posts contain NO additional information over the live blog and are literally posted seconds after they appear in the live blog.
If anything there should be a way to exclude the redundant posts, not apple posts.
Brite-View HDelight brings WHDI to laptops and netbooks
May 27th 2010 4:26PM (Engadget)if you would have read the article "there's no noticeable latency when streaming 1080p video from the laptop to the larger display" or watched a few seconds of the video clip you would have realized there is not 2 seconds of lag
still a non-existent use-case for the product though
Project Natal to cost $149 by itself, $299 with 360 Arcade, according to latest rumors
May 26th 2010 9:06PM (Engadget)Pay attention to sales, Buy.com just had 12+1 XBL cards on sale for $28....this isnt rare, even Walmart had cards for $30 earlier this year. For less than $2.50/month, yes, a gold Xbox Live subscription is worth it for cross game chat alone.
