"We would never leave Nintendo, we love them to death."
The guys at Eurogamer should have checked Roush for blood and bruises as he said this.
Seriously, why would any developer support Nintendo at this point? They offer no development assistance, no marketing support, nothing. Just look at WiiWare/3DSware whatever. It's a barren wasteland for indy game development, and simple "love" is not a good enough reason to develop for something. "Money" is a more logical reason.
Nintendo can put out all the shiny, happy PR it wants to, but it doesn't change the fact that the company is going to lose over a billion dollars, have the worst year financially in its history, and still remains an extremely risky investment with the Wii U around the corner.
Why the hell is this game coming to WiiWare? There's no point to it. It probably won't sell more than 50 copies. It just isn't the Wii's market, not mention downloadable games on the system is like farting in the woods... Nobody else hears it and after a while it just smells bad.
@(Unverified) After Google learns how to make their OS an unfragmented mess and actually has some semblance of decent phones on the market. A phone with a stylus? In 2012? REALLY?
Let's all take a step back and ask ourselves, as gamers, which company leaving consoles hurts the industry the most? Sony, perhaps the forefather of digital gaming? Microsoft, the innovators of online entertainment? Or Nintendo the guys behind Mario and Zelda? Which we would still be able to play on other consoles mind you! And they'd be BETTER because they'd be have actual high-end graphics behind them, which they wouldn't get on Wii!
Fanboys are right about one thing though, the industry wouldn't be that great if Nintendo left consoles. It'd be BETTER.
