this is funny, bones just give up dude, it really doesnt matter, no one really cares if they stole the idea or not, and probots reasoning that they can never be proven in stealing it (if they did) is certainly a good one.fact of the matter is people are inspired all the time consiouscly or subconsiouscly.being inspired from a game,an old HB/WB cartoon,a kid rolling a snowball it doesnt really matter does it? as long as its not copying, and i mean that literally, like if the ad had a small-like alien prince pushing a ball of junk in a cartoon like world with a timer and counter on the screen running at 30fps with happy jap music, then that can be regarded as "copying" in fact i dont even reckon the mc's ad was copying either, "inspired" yes...then we can get into an argument over everything! streets of rage copied final fight, sonic copied mario,KOF copied SF...it just gets ridiculous...drop it man.
his argument that the japanese are not "anti-american" is silly, the japs arnt anti-american but i do believe the japs see their form of video game entertainment very differently than the western form, their video game culture is hugely different in many ways and for an outside company to try and break into the jap market was and is always going to be a mountain to high to climb. comparing xbox's to ipod's or hiphop music is plain silly.
pc gaming is for the people into fps and rts, but let me ask, how many japanese devs out there release games SPECIFICALLY for the pc? we all know that the best games (in terms of gameplay, fun factor, inovation) come from the far east and the pc loses out big time in these areas. who cares if crysis is coming to the consoles or not? crytek will be eating ish when some jap/us dev releases a game that absolutley blows crysis grafx out the water, and i absolutley guarantee that this will happen. pc gaming is brute force, bigger the better, mines bigger than yours style gaming, boring. the more talented and elegant devs cater to the console, they see what the system can do and push it as hard as they can, find ways to create a special masterpeice, effects and a memorable experience. its almost like petrol guzzling muscle cars vs tech savvy turbos and such.... sure they both go the same speed but which is more economical?
