IMO it's about time PC gamers had to feel that extra $10 pinch. If consoles have licensing fees to deal with, then the PC price point can be justified saying it's a riskier investment due to the fact it'll be pirated so much more than the console versions will.
(generic rambling about how the entire thing is a conspiracy to milk money out of people and how corporations are evil and how someone from EA is sitting here with a gun to my head forcing me to buy any Dragon Age content that creeps up on Live)
Instead, I think I'll buy it and enjoy it. I waste more than $5 on trivial things like soft drinks, etc.
- Fast travel is completely optional. - The compass I might agree with, but it would be an easy disable option in the menu. - Morrowind had random loot, too. A lot of it. It's just that there were instances of placed loot, so you could find that Daedric Claymore in Ruin X every single time.
Really, I think the next ES game will be a lot like Fallout 3 was. Leveled enemies, but not everywhere, and not all with uber equipment, and more reason to explore places unlike Oblivion, where everything was random loot.

There was no ES game in development. Four months later they reveal Oblivion. Knights of the Nine did not exist in September 06. It was released in November. There were no plans for a "play after it ends" patch for Fallout 3. Then there were only going to be three DLCs. Surprise, Point Lookout magically appears.
