PSP survey hints at game rental service

May 20th 2009 5:37PM (Joystiq)
I wouldn't mind this if it worked similar to the tv and movie side of the store they already have. Obviously the time limit for game rentals would have to be longer than the tv/movie service, but maybe a 10 day rental for a digital copy of a game would work. It would depend an awful lot on the price for the rental period.

Joyswag: Fable 2 'See the Future' DLC [update]

May 11th 2009 5:27PM (Joystiq)
Five years from now I won't be working two hours from home, and I'll have the time to come home every night and play some Gears 4:Monster Shoes co-op with my daughter.

Tekken 6 also pummeling PSP

Apr 28th 2009 9:40PM (Joystiq)
The only problem comes for people who have a console as well as a psp. I can't afford two versions of the game. If I have to choose between the version on the big screen that my friends will be playing, or the version on the small screen that I'll be playing mostly alone, PSP loses. I got Tekken 5 before a current gen console, and loved the h3ll out of it, but now. . . .I want something I can't get bigger and better somewhere else.
Maybe it's just me having a 360, and no love for plastic instruments, but I'm looking forward more to the portable LBP and Rock Band because they pull on cool things that I don't have easier access to instead of games that are going to be pretty much everywhere.
(yes, Wii and PS2 aside, I know)

Analyst: Publishers potentially slashing $60 pricing

Feb 4th 2009 11:40AM (Joystiq)
Durden made a good point. 60 can get you at least three totally different types of movies. I haven't ever seen a game that can do a 180 on genre from one playthrough to the next, let alone totally change genres three times.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed looks impressive on PSP

cafecito's right, it's God of SW. :) Sweet.

First DLC appears for Wipeout Pulse [Update]

Feb 7th 2008 2:21PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Charging for this does seem a bit against the grain for what most of us usually expect, but haven't there been other cases of DLC for games lately that start out with a charge, and then go free a couple months later? Even if not, and I'm only remembering a rumor, I wouldn't be surprised, or put out. If you want something new and shiny in the tech world, you generally have to pay a premium for it. The only part of this I'd have a particular issue with is if the price doesn't drop a few months after the game comes out.

PSP Fanboy review: Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow

Oct 2nd 2007 12:07PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Is there any hint of potential replay of the game in something other than story mode, like the socom games where you can go back to a map and play with different objectives? I really liked the previous S.F. game, but wished there was a similar option.

Huggable Urns made from teddy bears

I've always wanted to be cremated when I die, but I never thought I'd potentially have to specify to NOT put me in a bear for the rest of time.
*sigh*, one more thing to add to the old to-do list.

An incomplete list of joy

A big one on my list is the first un-prompted "I love you"

Miss from #5,

Understood. It was really more of a rhetorical question.
It's a pet peeve, I guess having laws that seem like they had a good intent to start with (because hey nobody really wants some criminal coming into their country), but at least in reported stories are ending up being a pain the neck to people who, oddly enough, are trying to follow the rules by crossing at the border crossing gates, and being honest about who they are.

SKL from #6
I don't disagree that it should make a difference if you do or do not commit a crime. I think where we disagree is in what the appropriate punishments are. In general my feeling for crimes that are not violent, or which don't endanger someone else's life is that time served is the punishment.
Now, if it came out that she was using the drugs she got busted for having possession of. . . . I get the impression that you and I would be sitting quite a bit closer in the bleachers on this one.

Anyhow, I've probably said more than my .02 on this whole mess; maybe someone will come in Monday morning with a fresh perspective.
