Just because it's Elite doesn't mean its not going to have the same problems of the other units. My Elite broke in the first month of release. Then I was unable to get another, because they were still sold out for launch. So I had to downgrade back to the original model.

My Elite broke 2 weeks ago. I had a premium from launch break a month before that. I'm on my 3rd box(premium) so that puts me at 66%. Eat that anecdotal data!

My 360 Elite broke last night. I went to use my return policy, however they did not have any in stock (Best Buy). No where in the SF Bay Area. I ended up downgrading back to the premium and this is was my second console that broke. The last one was a premium when I upgraded to this Elite. I'm glad there's a post where I can vent a little, seems like this issue hasn't been covered recently.

The worst part about this was that I was unable to transfer my saved data from the 120 gig to the 20 gig hard drive so I now lost all my saved games. Killing me...Ack!
