I believe the first two Oddworld games were by far the best. Strangers Wrath was a pretty good game. It was unique and quirky or whatever but it didn't feature Abe and in my opinion. Munch got into the 3d realm and to me Oddworld will always be 2d platforming at its greatest.Abe is was made these games fun. That and the fact that Abes Oddyssy was unlike anything we had seen before on the playstation. The voice work was superb and I would say that those graphics 10 years ago still look great even by today's standards. 4 outstanding games. I just think that the first one in particular is a timeless classic.
I understand that parents have a responsibility and a duty to monitor what their kids watch, what they eat, what they play etcetera, but God forbid the video game industry shoulder some responsibility for the content they put out. The typical view here on Joystiq is that the parents are 100% accountable for their kids and everything they play, and and the video game industry has zero responsibility. That point of view is tired and shallow. The game industry does have to do a better job of policing itself. Parents have enough to do without worrying about finding two or three hours to sit down and play GTA, Bully, Zak and Wiki or whatever. This is not about censorship of an art medium. Its about ethics. Im sorry. there is no artistic value to Bully or Hot Coffee.
Maybe they will actually throw us a bone and release the game with a friggin' functional multiplayer mode. If I'm not mistaken, they never bothered to fix the broken multiplayer in the first one and that's reason enough for me not to buy this one.
@ jsn Ok dude. I stand corrected. My experience means nothing. My three failed 360's in two years was just an extremely rare isolated incident. Sorry for blowing this whole 360 failure rate thing out of proportion. Its a fine fine piece of hardware. The most efficiently engineered game console ever. I must just have bad luck.
16% my ass. I know this warranty provider is supposed to be a neutral third party, but 16%? Come on. Maybe my experience is worse than most others but from what i've read on the blogs, two to three failed units seems to be quite common. I think its somewhere in the 50%+ range.
The car chase scene in Ronin where Robert Deniro is chasing that French guy from The Professional through the narrow cobblestone streets of that little town in the Swiss Alps. Surprised no one has mentioned that one yet.
