If they want me to buy this then they really need to work on the terrorist hunt side. In Vegas 2 it wasn't a hunt - they came looking for you right from the start. There were no breaching tactics since you couldn't use the snake cam and the AI was pathetically stupid.
I do agree that Modern Warfare 3 is going to be very popular and I'll be picking up both games. But dont be surprised if MW3 sells less than previous installments.
A lot of people bought Black Ops and were burned by early issues. The continual fall in quality of the series is gradually coming to the attention of the masses.
I think this is my chalk and cheese game. I see everyone rating it so highly so accept it must be good but I just think it's highly overrated.
The interrogations and questionings are the worst part but I'm tired of every street crime being a chase followed by me shooting the guy when he stops. I have yet to tackle anyone and, as much if a straight-guy as Phelps seems to be, i wonder why any criminal he sees ends up dead.
The whole game for me seems to be a case of me failing a lot followed by the suspect making his or herself so obvious it didn't matter what clues you had. What I hate most though is the step back from the consequences we'd seen in Heavy Rain where a wrong move had lasting affect on the plot.
I understand why you all like it. The graphics are awesome, the sound is ace and the plot is decent enough. But fir ne the gameplay is severely lacking.
This was an excercise in managing client expectations and Sony failed.
They didn't have to offer anything but they announced this as a compensation scheme for the discomfort of having critical information stolen.
By stating they would do this they set the expectations we'd be getting something but, for those people who already have the games ( a very real possibility considering that they're decent games but quite old and that PS+ users have already been offered them free as part of the service ) they've effectively given a lot of people nothing at all.
I'm not asking for store credit or the latest games but the selection needed to be larger.
I understand what you're saying but 10 minutes on multiplayer would be enough to realise something is wrong. The fact that at release the time to end a turn was about one minute ( that's time spent waiting on an eggtimer ) and the total lack of animation would merit further investigation.
Several months after release and Firaxis/2K are only now implementing the features they originally intended to be part of the core game. Then they said it wouldn't make release but would be available "shortly after release" and then, when that was called out on the forums they edited their forum posts and said they never made any such claim. Such a shame they forgot to update their website and were found out.
Multiplayer is still unplayable. Games with more than 2 or 3 players either crash or won't start. Theirs no save feature and no way for someone to step into their own Civilization if they drop out for a turn. No animations in multiplayer and the game continues to have a gamebreaking bug which means the game slows down to a crawl in the later stages resulting in 5 to 10 minute delays between every turn.
But as long as you've got hot-seat right?
Utter fail and proof that metacritic reviews aren't always right.
Additional comment regarding the ongoing problems with multiplayer, Firaxis' lack of action in resolving the issue and a refusal to purchase DLC, or indeed any other product from the company until they prove their commitment to their customers.
Yes, that's what Sony did. They had their entire HR department run a costing excercise to establish whether it was cheaper to hire lawyers or security analysts, no other companies have ever been hacked and Sony employees regularly go out and kill bunnies during their lunch break.
