XBLA GoldenEye 007 details coming soon [update 2]
Feb 22nd 2008 1:00PM (Joystiq Xbox)It's not going to happen, it only *was* going to happen, and the magazine is only hopeful that support from the community will be enough to get this game back on track.

Rumor: New Dead or Alive will be PS3 exclusive
May 2nd 2007 4:46PM (Joystiq)Sure you can beat a button masher with a button masher, but fight someone who can read moves and deliver counters consistently, mixing in throws every now and then, and mashing won't get you anywhere.
On top of that, the beautiful, tiered stages offer a lot more gameplay-wise than typical 'ring'-style fighters.
DOA doesn't suck, at all, but the notion in the minds of people who have never played it spreads when they push out those volleyball "games". People start to think it's all about the bounce.
I really don't want DOA to be a PS3 exclusive. I'll laugh my ass off if it's a volleyball game, or one of those Japanese pool party games, but DOA5 (or Code Cronus) will definitely upset me to lose.
The video with the most card-on-card action: Eye of Judgment gameplay
May 2nd 2007 10:52AM (Joystiq)This is something we've done, with several different projects, here at Georgia Tech, with laughable budgets and limited resources. Compared to some of the things we've done, it really isn't all that impressive.
It is cool, though, as an addition to a card game that some people would play anyway.
Call of Duty 4 trailer
Apr 28th 2007 12:05PM (Joystiq)I think that CoD has done some amazing work with WWII (although 3 seemed a bit rushed), and I really hope the sence of intensity that the series is known for will carry over past the Nazis and to these "Eastern Europeans."
Is this the largest profile game revolving around jihadists (not including generic, diverse terrorists in something like Counter Strike)?
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men gets multiplatform launch on PS3, 360, and PC
Apr 24th 2007 2:29PM (Joystiq)I personally didn't even know it was exclusive in the first place.
As for exclusives, Microsoft has plenty more than just Mass Effect (Too Human, Halo franchise, Gears franchise, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, TimeShift, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Fable 2, et al.), but so does Sony.
This time around, it's not so much 'who has more exclusives' as it is 'who has the exclusives I want.' Some people will want Sony's more, some people will want Microsoft's more. I favor my 360, but that's not to say it's wrong to favor the PS3 (well, at least, it won't be when some games come out for it later). That's just not my preference.
Joystiq's video analysis of the Halo 3 Beta leak
Apr 24th 2007 10:33AM (Joystiq)What's confusing, though, is how much larger one base is in comparision to the beach, which looks exactly the same. Either the generator in the center no longer marks a neutral center point, or CTF is going to favor one side over another.
Definitely looks fun though. Bring on more leaks!
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft hop on the NPD merry-go-round
Apr 20th 2007 10:57AM (Joystiq)I should probably just review what I write instead of hoping for an 'edit' button.
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft hop on the NPD merry-go-round
Apr 20th 2007 10:55AM (Joystiq)But now it's sort of just sitting on mine... Surely it's the greatest thing since to whoever it's new to, but until some heavy titles that are really worthwhile start coming in, my Wii is just gathering dust.
Scratch that, it's working just fine as a means to play my Gamecube and VC games. Nostalgia is great and all, but the system shouldn't really revolve around it.
