Keyboard combo for the compulsively clean, obsessively sterile
Jan 6th 2007 3:02PM (Joystiq)Sony's Phil Harrison: "I don't think we're arrogant"
Jul 13th 2006 9:36PM (Joystiq)It's not just bad manners, it's a breach of trust. Rules work like that -- you agree to something then you follow it. It just seems like a pretty low blow to start a paragraph with "but wait till you hear what he said OFF the record!"
I guess Joystiq doesn't have to be polite. Regardless of the circumstance, by violating an interviewee's trust so blithely, they have lost mine. I hope they see my point, apologize, and try to reclaim a level-headed discourse.
Sony's Phil Harrison: "I don't think we're arrogant"
Jul 13th 2006 8:47PM (Joystiq)I'm nothing short of flabbergasted at the arrogance of both of you. I think you two should kiss and make up.
Seriously though, whether you're being a journalist or an editorialist, that is NOT kosher and I've just lost quite a bit of respect for Joystiq.
Disclaimer: I believe Sony is being an arrogant, priveleged child of a company, and I believe their hypocritical answers served fairly well to further indict themselves as such. So the issue is not that I'm not rushing to their defense, but that I'm dismayed to see such childish behavior come from Joystiq. Do the right thing and apologize, for the Joystiq readers.
