@phatfish yep the only thing i am hoping from completely free access to the ps3's internals is a ps2 emulator, hopefully the absence of the emulator is largely because of sony's incompetence at programming and not the ps3's incompetence at translating emotion engine instructions to spu or cell, or reality synthesisers code

@Eternity you could legally play ps1 games by entering a "second hand" game shop, or downloading a limited selection up from the psn store. but some of us would rather play a copy copied from a friend of a friend these days i assume

@TareG Suddenly it makes some sort of sense why sony released games in 25GB sized discs, 8 GB is long enough, 25? I might as well download 3 xbox360 games

@Yoy0YO Pretty much why i'm trying not to get my hopes up before things start crumbling down and all, I'm probably calling it a fake if more news doesn't show up in a month. and there's still the software side to take care of

@Yoy0YO I'm still a skeptic till i see a basic tenet of science, reproducibility. that is he or some random guy out there can hack their own ps3 using the methods used by the original hacker, why else do ya think the guys who claimed to have done cold fusion are treated like frauds nowadays?

@JDH try playing that disk on another ps3, if it works then its your console

waiting for those infrared camera's that tracks head positiion and movement and gives an illusion of 3D, hopefully those don't need infrared flashlights stuck on glasses by tracking the nose, and I don't need to upgrade the lcd at all. problem is its an illusion for 1 person and that is the person who's head is being tracked, and its only going to work for 3D games not movies as they require multiple and wideranging viewpoints
