Telefónica and Vodafone reach pan-European deal to share network infrastructure

Mar 23rd 2009 8:47PM (Engadget Mobile)
Telefonica own O2 in the U.K, so the sharing extends to the O2 network in the U.K., I would imagine it's the case in the other countries as well.

Capcom publicity stunt loses realistic fake limbs in London

Mar 12th 2009 9:06PM (Joystiq)
Didn't Sony get frowned upon for doing a similar stunt to this (the goat thing for GOW), though that was a little ott lol.

I think this was a little bit daft, especially seeing how the police could potentially shoot someone for carrying a 'body part' around, they have been known to shoot innocent people without any intelligence (as in the spy kind, not for just being dumb b'stards.

HTC's Touch Diamond2 gets a little more real with date and price on eXpansys UK

Mar 1st 2009 7:44PM (Engadget Mobile)
Well it's that price now it's had the free advertising on Endaget, then it will skyrocket like everything else in a week or so lol ;-)

Details on AT&T's 3G MicroCell: everything but the date and price

Jan 26th 2009 3:50AM (Engadget Mobile)
I just wish the U.K. networks would hurry up and get their backsides in gear on the femtocell front. Just moved into an old train station house where every wall inside and out is 3 foot thick stone. Safe to say there's no signal indoors at all (also has been a pain setting wifi up with me having to end up using powerline products to get internet around the house).

Only similar thing i've seen are mobile repeaters, but dubious on whether they work. This kind of things sounds like it would be perfect.

Sony's VAIO P priced at £300 on Amazon's UK site

Jan 17th 2009 6:35AM (Engadget)
Amazon over here seem to have a nasty habit of doing this, whether it's this, PS3 games, wii consoles etc. It's like they've cottoned on to the fact that sites like Engadget pick up on these things, write a post about it then everyone hits their site up.

Since they have no obligation to actually deliver the goods, they have basically got free advertising for their site and who knows, people may spend a bit of cash on something else while they are there.

(They did this really early last year with some PS3 pre-releases, the stories were on various game/blog sites, they then blanket emailed those that ordered saying the price was incorrect and to cancel you had to contact their CS department, they didn't do it automatically).

Sony sells its 50 millionth PlayStation 2 in North America

Jan 14th 2009 10:56PM (Engadget)
Maybe the map that stole the Sony Ericsson phones has a hand in that 172 million. Or something.

Media Molecule comments on LittleBigPlanet delay, new dates revealed

Oct 17th 2008 3:24PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Good move on Sonys part, especially after the total chaos caused not so long ago by that cartoon of the prophet Mohammed http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/4677976.stm

Then there was the British woman who got jailed and faced public flogging (was quite a big story over here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7115821.stm)

So you can see why, for whatever the right and wrong reasons, Sony delayed the release by a week.

This would have caused untold bad publicity later down the line if they had left it in, some people took offense and went straight to the media with it, they ran with it then it gets blown out of all proportion.

Motorola's Krave ZN4 acquired, photographed

Oct 12th 2008 5:17PM (Engadget)
Actually, if it is anything like the ming, then yes the round moto logo on the flip is the earpiece AND the speaker. In the ming there were very thin contacts (just looked like a line) running up the flip to each side of the logo.

One thing Moto do well on their handsets is small details like that.
