Wait until you have kids who are of gaming age. Are you willing to share your gamertag with your child, wife, etc., just so you can all play that game you bought new?
Oh, wait, you have a job, so you don't mind buying the game for $60, and additional online pass for $10, and another $15 for the free dlc pack that came with the original purchase. So you're up to an additional $25 for the game if you have a child with their own gamertag. Add another $25/person if you have a wife that games, or a second child with a gamertag...
So, if I understand that tweet right, he knows most people won't go for this if they are explicitly asked. So, instead of asking their permission, he's forcing everyone in, and giving them the option to opt-out, and banking on laziness and/or ignorance to track people.
Project $10 was palatable in games, like Alice: Madness Returns (didn't break anything, free stuff is good for rewarding purchasers).
It is absolutely NOT palatable in Battlefield 3. I have a friend who is forced to play under his wife's gamertag because she was signed in on their Xbox when they put the disc in the first time. God forbid a married couple shares ownership of a game.
FYI - Supreme Court Justices are "appointed for life," not elected. They were the ones who validated (and made lawful) these types of provisions.
So no, don't blame the voters. Hell, there's a cross-section of voters (myself included) who wasn't even of voting age when a good portion of the SCOTUS justices were appointed.
But the problem with this whole thing is there are some of us who did refuse the update and stopped using PSN. This was followed by the update being pushed out to us on the game discs we purchase.
So, the question then becomes: Can Sony strip features off of my PS3 even when I'm not accessing their free online services? My PS3, when purchased, clearly states that I am able to play PS3 games as well as use OtherOS.
(I think the plaintiffs screwed up with their claims and dropped the ball for all of us on this one...)
@supersonic124 Funny. The hit detection is still broken (either via auto-aim going crazy or the infamous "lag compensation"), and there are still multiple glitches that need patching on the 360 version so.. Treyarch has done a better job maintaining the game thus far. (Can't speak for the PS3 version, but I hear it's actually marginally worse)
