Wii Fanswag: Win a copy of Dragon Quest Swords

Mar 13th 2008 11:12AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
My favorite game of the series stems from my earliest days and nights of gaming. As a young boy in the early 90's, gaming rocked my world, especially my first ever RPG, Dragon Warrior.

Wii Warm Up: The question of a demo

I personally am a big fan of the VC, BUT I have spent money on games that have gotten the thumbs up from here, IGN, 1Up, or Gamespot, only to find I hate them. Examples include Hockey, Ninja Spirit, Splatterhouse. I would not have spent my money if I had played them beforehand.

VC Monday Madness: More Ninja than you can shake a shuriken at

@ Jeff
I am a firm believer in "different strokes for different folks." For me, the game did not bring back what I thought it would. If you enjoyed the game on TG16 long ago, then by all means pick this up..Back then, the graphics were great, now they remind me of an ugly version of Revenge of Shinobi on Genesis. I also didn't like the ease of the game.

A few weeks ago I was happiest guy alive when "Legend of the Mystical Ninja" released, while many others did not think the game was that great.

Downloaded and been playing Ninja Spirit since noon. I had never played the TurboGrafx version, only the version in the arcade, and I must tell you all to stay away UNLESS you feel some sort of retro connection to the game.

I feel like I just wasted $6, but feel free to disagree if you find this fun upon downloading it. Just trying to share that I didn't care for it.

Mystical Ninja is my favorite game of all-time. When I your post about popping it in on your birthday, it was Deja Vu. Can't wait to play Pong and other classics at the carnival level!

DS Daily: The other guys

Mar 26th 2007 9:52AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I have both a PSP and a DS. I am more of a DS guy, but the PSP comes in handy for trips with the UMD and MP3 capabilities. Also, good for playing games such as Ratchet and Clank and Daxter, not offered on the DS.

With all of the above said, I would MUCH rather have a DS over a PSP.

VC Monday Madness: post-game wrap-up 3/19/07

I'm sure many well not agree with this but I am not at all impressed with Splatterhouse.

I downloaded based on hopes that it was as memorable as the arcade version, and well, it isn't. This is a game that some may enjoy based on childhood memories, but it did nothing for me.

This is the reason why Nintendo needs downloadable demos. I don't have enough money to buy multiple games each week, so I am very dissapointed in this purchase.

Anyone have anything GREAT to say about Beyond Oasis? Will spending the $8 cheer me up or leave me saying, "It was worth it, but not necessary."

Old school TMNT coming to the XBLA?

Feb 25th 2007 7:10PM (Joystiq Xbox)
At #1 and #2..

You both couldn't be more right on. My favorite arcade games as a kid were TMNT, Simpsons, and X-Men. Ofcourse I got to play TMNT at home when it was released as TMNT II for the NES. None of the X-Men or Simpsons console games come closed to their arcade counterparts.
