After I graduated from college I opened my own game store in Michigan back in the early 90's. I had no idea what I was getting into, did no research and basically just had this silly idea that I could make money selling used games. I also rented games, which at the time was still somewhat new, and I carried the NeoGeo for rental too.
When all was said and done I made more money off the cheap candy I added to the front of the store because the market was better. Then I added arcade games and I made even more off that. Eventually I had enough and went back to computer programming and real money.
Good luck kid, you are seriously going to need it.
Ok, now I get the article about the dude in the sleaveless shirt... you guys seriously need to workout or join a real sports team. Maybe hockey, it worked for me...
Yawn... at this point I'll be surprised if this game is half as good as Gears of War (1). By time they finally ship this Gears2 will be out and the bar will be that much higher...
I don't know... I barely play my ps3 at this point... but the 360 keeps getting the love. Sony get it in gear already...
You have a point, sir. However, if you already own a 'trackable' car, like the mentioned Evo9 as your daily driver, then the cost isn't bad (usually 100-150, less for open practice track days, at least in my area). Or if you are REALLY into these sims, why not buy a car that can double, which is what I decided to do. Most of us need a car to drive to work each day and buying a used evo8 or a new/used evo9/x, isn't really a stretch considering most new cars will run you 20k or more.
The track day cost does vary to... for example, I'm doing an ice racing day next week for $5.00 bucks, which is going to be badass... nothing like constant awd drift to put a huge smile on your face.
LOL. You caught me, I was hoping to sell some of these Lambo's we got laying around the lot before '08. Dang!
For the record a 30k Evolution9 will get you on the track, and that's new (20k for a nice used one Evo8). Right out of the box you can track that car without any mods (even the brakes rock on that thing stock - Brembo's).
Maybe so but race sim fans love to think they are really experiencing what autoracing is from the comfort of their living room. That isn't the case with Madden or NHL 2k7 fans. For some reason race games are often considered real sims (perhaps the makers foster this illusion?).
Point being, if you are really into this type of game you owe it to yourself to try the real thing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. No driving game is realistic, even so called driving sims (GT series, Forza, etc).
I highly recommend you take your car out on a local race track for an open track day. It will change your perspective on these games forever.
I love great driving games, Forza2, PGR, Test Drive Unlimited, GT Series, etc. Great fun. But I never confuse them for simulators because they are not.
It will be a long time before a sim captures the experience of rocking down a straightaway going 120 into a long sweeper and losing it. Trust me, no game captures that terror/excitement/pants wetting experience. ;)

I mean, that was suppose to be the first full album to download with RockBand 1!
Oh and how about some Flaming Lips or something different for a change... (I'd take some Wilco, or Jim O'Rourke for that matter...).
