I still feel like I need explained to me why Super Mario Galaxy, the most well-reviewed game of the year (according to both MetaCritic and GameRankings), wasn't even nominated for GOTY. If it wasn't for that game I'd give it to BioShock hands down, but seriously... what?
Seriously though, even if this game was on Wii it'd be an embarassment to the developers. But you know the Japanese will eat it up, because of what the name on the box is.
Limited co-op/PvP - in the vein of Diablo II (man I sound dated) - would suit Oblivion and be awesome. But I don't have the time nor the money to be playing an MMO, and I think that holds for a lot of other people.
However, saying that Elder Scrolls would be "yet another tepid swords and sorcery MMO" is kind of assuming they would remove all of the gameplay that defined Oblivion (i.e. actual real-time combat, not real-time menus).
I'm definitely taking this post with a grain of salt. I was shocked when I read Joystiq's initial impressions of this game, and if you look at the other previews (on IGN and 1UP), they are decidedly more positive. Actually, they're about 1000x more positive. Whatever blogger wrote Joystiq's hands-on just must've had a sandy vagina that day.
I really don't mind that most of the world doesn't like America, and I realize that Yahtzee is obviously exaggerating and making jokes, but the comment about all the wars since the second world war being about running in and stomping all over a developing nation is kind of symptomatic of a habit of villifying everything America (or any nation, really) does, just because you don't like their current policy. That was one hell of a run-on sentence. Similar to the way we say all French are pussies and always have been, simply because they were outspoken in opposing us recently.
Seriously though, anyone who thinks Americans are overly patriotic has never been to Britain or most of Europe (excluding Germany).
And furthermore, as to his criticism of the WWII genre: yeah, it's been way overdone. But it's not like we never play as the British or other nations, he's only using one game as an example. Take for instance the recently released Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts (freaking awesome game, btw). Only the British and Germans are playable, and the Germans are even portrayed somewhat sympathetically. I think you just have to be careful about over-generalizing.
Aren't you not supposed to use premade stencils? Wario, the second entry with Mario, Luigi, etc., Stubbs, all literally came from the same site. Illidan Stormrage and Master Chief also look like stencils, but I don't really feel like doing the research to check, and for all I know, those guys couldve made their own, it's as easy as changing a drawing to black and white and pressing "print". Though nice work on the carving, its still tough to be that delicate.
 Sorry mate, didn't mean to accuse you of cheating. I thought my post made it clear that it was pretty much just my opinion that I prefer classic style jack-o'-lanterns.
Like I said, I never accused you of breaking any rules, but you can't help but see the difference between yours and the others.
