Sep 21st 2007 2:15PM (Joystiq)EA Montreal boss calls development cost "crazy"
Dec 3rd 2006 12:52AM (Joystiq)In reality, an object is an object. You can only have so many different types of (for example) wood. And even those varieties are by-products of very few characteristic changes to wood (for example: color, grain spread, etc.)
I don't understand, and never have, why there's so much rebuilding from the ground up on every project. ICe acts like ice regardless of what company is making it. Once you have a basic structure for how an object works, make that open source and leave it up to development teams to do their own tweaking.
All video games are just extensions/abstractions of reality anyway. Why7 not make a basic reality set of objects and let teams go from there?
Oh, right. Patents and money.

Oct 20th 2006 8:56PM (Joystiq)Miniboss, I'm not sure what you mean. XBL allows you to download trailers and demos whileplaying a single-player version of an XBL Arcade game.
Why would you assume this can't?

Sep 30th 2006 12:51AM (Joystiq)I don't get why you guys can't separate Sony's true f-ups on this from ones simply based on your frustration with them.

May 12th 2006 7:14PM (Joystiq)All of you: Grow up, step into the twenty first century, and stop whining like fourteen year old children. If you want it, save for it. If you don't, then don't. It's really that simple.
the problem with the 360 is that it brought gaming to the MTV idiots, who think if they scream the loudest, they'll win.
Play your damn console - whatever it is - and enjoy it. Stop being morons and wasting your pathetic lives wondering if other people are going to shell out a hundred dollars more than you did for their favorite console. It really makes you look childish.

Secret EA promotion code compromised
Feb 24th 2006 5:43PM (Joystiq)Yes, I do find it dishonorable. Everything you said makes sense (short game, code available elsewhere), but doesn't make it right, in my opinion.
Secret EA promotion code compromised
Feb 24th 2006 4:28PM (Joystiq)1. I could care less who gets a pre-order weapon from a game. It's principle.
2. I'm the only one complaining, yes. Generally, the listof comments aroundhere are filled with nonsense, console bashing and the like. So I don't feel too bad being the odd man out in the comments section.
3. Two wrongs, blah blah blah. I keep hearing what evgeryone else has done, and why that makes this okay. Ask the publishers if that's how they feel.
4. Just another example of culture these days. Selfish and illogical.
Carry on.
