Kinectimals go Kinect-less on Windows Phone 7 this fall

Aug 17th 2011 9:54PM (Joystiq)
@ColdHeat The game is obviously making use of the new augmented reality API's in Windows Phone Mango. This looks very similar to the augmented reality games on the 3DS (minus the 3D effect of course).

Kinectimals go Kinect-less on Windows Phone 7 this fall

@2late2die Actually it was called Nintendogs and it sold 24 million copies on the Nintendo DS.

There is definitely a big market for these types of games. I'll buy this. I mean we're talking about a game that costs pocket change and makes for a fun distraction. This is a fraction of a cost of the Nintendog's titles on DS.

Let's take a tour of Microsoft's E3 2011 area

Jun 10th 2011 12:48AM (Joystiq)
Between Gears, Forza, Halo, Dance Central, Kinect Sports, and Star Wars Microsoft is going to own the holidays. Forza was arguably the most polished & impressive game at the show. I am not a car guy at all but they even got my attention with how beautiful and detailed Forza 4 looks. Was not impressed by the previous games, but this is the best looking car game I've ever seen. I don't think any game at the show has garnered more mainstream attention than Star Wars. Come December 25th every kid is going to want to find that game under their tree.

@Arsenic13 Rumors are that the Mango update will bring Xbox Live multiplayer. Hopefully there will be some exciting WP7 announcements at E3 next week.

Kinect-controlled Netflix available today on Xbox 360

"For more choices and search use your controller"

That is pathetic. Shame on Microsoft. They took this long to deliver such a bare bones implementation?

They give you access to only 12 movies when using Kinect? Are you kidding me?

Why can't I just say the name of a title and search for it on Zune/Netflix/Hulu like you can on Microsoft's smartphones or car systems?

@acefondu Still don't understand why they didn't make it so that you can just say the name of a movie and it brings it up. Both Android's voice search and Windows Phone voice search work well enough so that you can say the name of something and it will search for it. Also Microsoft's Ford Sync technology works well enough so that you can just say the title of a song or artist and it starts playing.

If they bring that voice search tech to Kinect then it will actually be faster than using a remote control to start a movie. It takes me forever to navigate through my Netflix Instant queue.

Ubisoft officially unveils Kinect superhero fighter PowerUP Heroes

@rahnyc4

Kinect Sports is going to pass 3 million sold soon. Dance Central has sold like 2 million. They've sold over 10 million Kinect games (not counting Adventures which would make it over 20 million Kinect games sold already).

@Jack Kevorkian

Looks cool. I think Kinect is perfect for all kinds of super hero games. Glad Ubisoft picked up on this perfect match so quickly. Now we just need to see a Marvel game for Kinect so you can play as Iron Man, Wolverine, Spiderman, Hulk, Magneto, etc.

Rumor: Xbox Dashboard preview testing for Avatar Kinect, Hulu Plus [update: Avatar Kinect, Hulu not part of public beta]

A guy on my friends list has been testing Hulu Plus for months. The Hulu logo shows up everytime he uses it.

Forza 4 pitch video pulled by Microsoft

@Drakkenfyre

The video was probably meant to be seen by buyers from big retail chains like Best Buy and Gamestop.
