Epic dull-fest. Tiny, tiny amount of content. Skip it.

I loved the game, I had no criticism myself, but this guy (above) did.

Pre-order H.A.W.X. on Steam and get Blazing Angels for free

Mar 1st 2009 9:49PM (Big Download)
Don't buy it for BA1.

First, I already put my money where my mouth is. I bought Hawx with Blazing Angels already.

Second, the promotion is by Ubisoft. You can buy Hawx from them and get BA1 for free too.

Third, of course, there is a catch. You have to figure out how to make BA1 to run if you a Vista OS. That is go into ...steamapps/common/blazing angels and find the startupapp.ex and click on it. Get to properties and find the compatibility mode and select windows 98 me.

Fourth, BA1 will run in single player only. You get ripped off because there is no multiplayer for downloaded versions. Also, the configuration of your joystick is whacked.

Fifth, Xfire will not help you in your quest for multiplayer for BA1.

So, I have a bad feel about Hawx already. I worry that we have another Endwar on our hands.

TF2 Scout's new shotgun: The Force-a-Nature

I wasn't clear, I mean how much time does a person have to spend to get an unlockable?

What is an unlockable? How do you unlock these things? Is there a link about what you have to do?

Brash goes out with a fascinating bang

Feb 24th 2009 1:08PM (Joystiq)
First, the Mickey Mouse story was not worth clicking on the link. It had a huge build up and no pay off whatsoever.

Second, I bought Jumper for my boys. It was literally the worst game ever made. When I read I was one of only 60,000 suckers to fall for it I basically wanted to puke. I wasted $60 bucks on this trash.

So, I am glad to see them fail. I will never buy a game for my kids again that does not have a decent review.

The sale must have caused a crash at steam, because you can't load or use the store right now...

DICE 2009: EA announces American McGee's Alice 2

Feb 19th 2009 8:08PM (Joystiq)
American McGee, as I recall was a level designer for Doom and Quake. Then he produced Alice and it has been all down hill from there. He did so bad in the U.S. that he fled to China (or some other Asian country) and set up a cheap development company. That failed too along with the games they produced. Now he is resurrecting Alice, which in my opinion was a decent game for it's time. However, I doubt seriously that this sequel will rise above the bug infested crapware that he has released on the impulse buying public. Bad Day L.A. is the most noteworthy pile of steaming poop. He always blames his publisher for not giving him time to "polish" his games (if you could really call them that). I am sure he will do the same here. I just don't buy his excuses anymore. He is in the same league as Uwe Bolle in my opinion. There I feel much better. After all, I fell for Bad Day L.A.--I won't make that mistake again.
