Boeing was trying out it's Connexion technology (basically the same as Gogo) and decided it wasn't cost effective and sold off that business unit a year or two ago.

Sure, the industry itself means more to the economy (but, the space program IS a significant part of the US economy, especially in New Orleans, and Central Florida). That doesn't justify the pay rate disparity though.

As if paying $38/hr for semi skilled labor makes ANY sense at all...

I make less than that and am an engineer working on getting the replacement for the SPACE SHUTTLE off the ground.
