Attention 20-something adultolescents: Power Rangers Online is a thing

@pika2000 True, I forgot this was targeted at Korea.

Attention 20-something adultolescents: Power Rangers Online is a thing

They should have based this off of Gokaiger, the current, 35th anniversary Super Sentai series. Space pirate rangers that have the ability to turn into the previous 34 teams though Ranger Keys containing the powers of the old teams? Makes perfect sense for an MMO.

It's Ace Combat's great pumpkin DLC, Charlie Brown!

@Golgo13 It's different to an extent, but in a good way. If you liked the demo, you'll likely love the game. I was kinda meh about the demo and I adore the game. The story is a bit more grounded since it's set in the real world, but it's still got that Ace Combat flair you known.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon review: Old dogfight, new tricks

I'm not that enthralled by what I saw of the demo, but the review gives me hope for one reason. Sure, core AC fans may not care for this as much, but if it can get people who didn't pay attention to AC games before to actually pay attention to AC games, and if they go back and play something like 5 and enjoy the setting, we might go back to Strangereal (which Assault Horizon Legacy for 3DS seems to have done.)

Maybe Bamco could give us an HD Remaster collection of 4/5/Z...

Breaking: PS3 firmware 3.56 released

Jan 27th 2011 1:23AM (Joystiq)
@JaymzShady

The loss of USB updates is a disappointment (assuming you mean the firmware updates from a USB storage device). The last time I did a firmware update via a download from PSN, it took almost an hour, and that was probably 2-3 weeks after the update was released. Ever since then, I download via PC and update manually.

I understand how it's used for the hacked stuff to load custom firmwares, but seriously, that's a pretty lame move by Sony, even though I see why they probably felt they had no choice. Still, those of us using it fairly get screwed.

@Faceless Troll

Totally agree. It might be boring, but for the sake of your existing, loyal customers, it's a lot better to just say "Listen, we have some cool new stuff we want to introduce but we have to take the site down for 2-3 days. Sorry for the downtime, but it won't have to happen again so please bear with us."

Instead, you get some jackass in marketing who pops up with "Hey guys, wouldn't it be funny if we messed with everyone and told them we were just shutting down? We'll totally fool them and then launch the new site! And we can make a HILARIOUS video to go along with it!"

End result is you get customers unlikely to continue their existing relationship with the company and potential new customers now unlikely to trust them, even if it's clear it was a stunt.

Sweet, Ron Wasserman (probably best known as the composer for the soundtrack toteh original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) has a track on here. Say what you will about the show, but the music was pretty kick ass.
