Touchscreen Starcraft demonstrates how RTS games were meant to be played

Sep 10th 2006 6:37AM (Joystiq)
I have worked with a computer system that used a touch screen interface and where ever you touched the screen the mouse pointer immediately went to that location so I can understand why this game does it too.

(It was a computer control system for a chemical plant designed by Honeywell)

Nintendo: ready to pick up the slack

My concern over an article like this is that MOST people out there, who buy consoles don't read blogs like those from the joystiq family and most aren't even aware when the PS3 was ever meant to come. Well in the West of Scotland anyway. So my feeling is that this will have no effect on PS3 sales at all as when it comes people will still walk out and buy it. Shove it on their crdeit card or something. I mean if Boy Racers can find 10K to do up a 5K car, they will find £600 (or more, not sure) for the PS3.

The main advantage of a console over a pc is that when you buy a console game, you know it will perform as it is meant to. With a PC game, it is easy to find a game that will have difficulty on your machine after two years without upgrading. A console can last at least 5 years before an upgrade is needed so no stress for the game lover that doesn't know much about hardware!
