I usually fall on the other side of the have/have not argument, but I have to agree with Drakkenfyre on this one.
If the things that come with the Collector's Edition are made available outside of that, well then it becomes less of a 'Collector' edition, doesn't it?
I didn't buy my CEs for the pets, but they are a nice perk for having done it. Sometimes it's nice when there are unique items in the game that can only be gotten a certain way.
You've been drinking too much of the Sunstrider Kool-Aid: "In the aftermath[of the Second War], some high elves blamed the humans' poor leadership for the burning of their forests. King Terenas of Lordaeron reminded them that nothing of Quel'Thalas would have remained if not for the hundreds of humans that gave their lives to defend it, but nevertheless, the high elves largely abandoned the Alliance."
The ones that 'largely abandoned the Alliance' are the ones that would eventually became Blood Elves. A small group of High Elves led by Vereesa, and Alleria remained loyal to the Alliance, and most that lived in Dalaran remained loyal to the Alliance too.
High Elves still exist, and they are still aligned with the Alliance. There are some in Icecrown, Dalaran, Stormwind and Theramore. The Alliance faction of the Silver Covenant is comprised of High Elves.
There are not many High Elves left, but those that are ARE still part of the Alliance.
Probably trying out Star Trek: Online again, now that the early access FTP has started. Beyond that levelling my Prot Pally that I've fallen back in love with. I've forgotten how fun it is to pull a minimum of 3-4 mobs at a time and solo the heck out of them!
