This is actually the way DLC expansions should work. Assuming the price is reasonable, This adds optional value to the existing owners of the game, and minimizes distribution cost of a full-on retail release. Again, cost is still a major factor here- don't be greedy dicks, EA.
I've been a Playstation supporter since September 1995. I've always made the Playstation my primary console (even though I end up owning each console eventually) every generation and I buy over 90% of my games new (games that over 2 years old are actually pretty hard to find new, oftentimes). When I first saw one of these codes in my copy of Uncharted 3, I was very disappointed. When I learned that Sony was including one of these passes in Twisted Metal- despite protests from series producer/creator David Jaffe- I knew that I would have to skip on the game to prove to myself (and Sony) that I could live without these games.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. At this rate, I'm not going to be buying many first-party Sony titles anymore. In the meantime, I'm playing through my backlog and going back and buying games that I missed out on over the course of the last decade or so- I've got more than enough on my plate.
If publishers want to sell me new games, they need to quit this bullshit and focus on making games that are worth our money instead of trying to make up the difference by hampering a used market. This is already the slowest year for quality new releases I can even remember. I haven't bought a single new game this year and It's almost April.
Anyway, that's where I stand on the issue- and Sony doesn't have much on the horizon that interests me- but if they keep this up, they won't have to worry about me ever buying any of their games in the future.
I didn't know this was the same team behind the Solatorobo/Tail Concerto games. That's pretty cool! More games like that (you know: actual games) and less like Naruto and Asura's Wrath, please :D
This looks spectacular. They keep outdoing themselves with each new game, and I love it. I can't wait to buy and play this game as soon as it comes out.
