Katy Perry returns to The Sims 3

Apr 4th 2012 10:56AM (Joystiq)
@den69 Are you trying to say the Sims 1 was more realistic? The one where you can make a disco and invite frankenstein? The one where you can make a torture room hidden in your house and then go to the magic fair looking for spells? The main thing the Sims 1 had was actually interesting expansions instead of planned copies of previous ones and endless item packs to make up for the collection of all 50 or so items the original game has.

Club Nintendo offers You, Me, the Cubes, Excitebike, and Metal Torrent

@bunktacular Except they don't have a retail value and they're free with your purchase of a game. I wouldn't pay money or coins for any of these games regardless. This is the first time they've offered nothing but junk. I got Mario Picross last time and it was a great deal for all the content in it.

Obsidian missed Fallout: New Vegas Metacritic bonus by one point

@creid8
If they had done that they'd end up looking bad having Obsidian make a much better game for THEIR series. Bugs were the only thing stopping it from being the real Fallout 3.

Ask Tim Schafer anything this Sunday

@civilciv While a lot of us as gamers don't care for the kinect that much, I imagine for a developer like Schafer who thrives on creativity, it was an exciting new venture.

Lots of people criticize the crowd funding. I can't wait for someone to call him cancer so he can deliver a witty comeback instead of whining and starting drama.

New Xenoblade Chronicles trailer shows off combat and menus

Directionless grind? What game did you play? There is never a moment without an arrow on top of the screen telling you where to go next. I only grinded without direction at the end of the game to finish a quest for a special weapon.

I strongly disagree. Smash Bros looks a lot better. Don't take how this game looks in screenshots as an example, when you get it on your TV screen in low resolution you'll probably be disappointed like me. That being said, the world is still wonderfully designed, even if the technical side is pretty dated.

Someone is going to scream entitled babies to us, but I agree completely. It never bothered me on the Wii, but moving to a portable, a game as old as Super Mario Bros should be available for the same cheap price iOS games get offered for.

Double Fine Kickstarter passes $1 million in under 24 hours, breaking yet another record

@Wackydavo
"Maybe I'm overstating the significance, though, maybe this would only work for developers with impeccable track records and nostalgic projects."

Pretty much. I wouldn't have donated/preordered with any other developer. A name like Double Fine has big names and big risks behind it. If they don't own up to what they say, there are big consequences. John doe and his marry band of indie devs can take my money and put out a stinker with a total budget of $10 and not have to worry about ruining his "career."

I hope not. I'd prefer Psychonauts 2 to be another platformer. Feature length instead of something made in a few months.
