GameFly expanding to Austin, Texas

Jul 26th 2007 12:13AM (Joystiq)
Gameznflix has many more distribution centers. The Pittsburgh facility must be fairly recent. I lived near Pittsburgh when I had Gamefly a year or so ago and it always took 2-3 weeks for the process of sending a game in and getting a new one to happen. For how much they charge it's ridiculous. I still have Gameznflix and I like it a lot better than Gamefly. I would be willing to try Gamefly again, I guess, though, since they are here in Pittsburgh now.

Burger King Xbox games roundup

Nov 23rd 2006 4:32PM (Joystiq)
I have Sneak King and Pocket Bike Racer. Both are really well done for the price. Pocket Bike Racer, especially. The regular racing is quite fun, and so is the battle mode. I haven't gotten to play the other 2 modes yet, but those 2 alone are a blast and well worth the price of admission. Xbox Live support is a big plus, too. Sad to say, I think I could kill a lot of time playing PBR.

Sneak King on the other hand has upped the challenge level quite a bit from when I first started playing it. It's a tough game, honestly, and if you have lots of free time, there is plenty to do.

Now I have to wait to be hungry for BK again so I can get Big Bumpin.

The legality of bundles

Nov 10th 2006 11:56PM (Joystiq)
I loathe GameStop and go out of my way to buy games elsewhere. They are one of the least customer friendly stores ever and the management is so smug and proud of it. During an interview I had with them the regional manager was there and he was bragging about their profits and how much of a killing they make on preowned and whatnot.... and it just bothers me cause they pay the least out of any store for preowned games and then sell them for $2 less than a new game. I always take games into FYE. They generally will give you twice as much as GameStop will. Plus their "preorder or you won't get one!" sales pressure is such a hassle and is the opposite of the "convenience" it offers their customers.

I'd rather shop where you can go pick something up on day 1 without a hassle.

Forget Best Buy, head to Sears for the PS3 launch

Nov 6th 2006 9:55PM (Joystiq)
I worked at a Circuit City at the time of the 360 launch. I got off at 3pm on the night before the launch and there was already a line forming outside. I knew I wouldnt be able to get one at CC (we weren't allowed) and I got laughed out of GameStop and EB. Wal Mart's positions had already been claimed for as well. Anyway, a friend and I checked all the stores within an hour drive, and ended up showing at a Big K-Mart at around 6am on launch day (after spending several hours in the Denny's across the street to make sure no line was forming, and seeing a movie). At 7 we walked right in and picked up our consoles. I got back into my town around 8:30, hooked up my system, played for a bit and showed up to work at Circuit City at 10am to see the same people lined up. I love how people are so conditioned to always go to Wal Mart or BestBuy/CC no matter what that no one had even thought of going to K-Mart. That's bad for K-Mart, but good for me! I plan on going to a K-Mart and picking up a Wii on launch day, too.

ExciteTruck stinks. They should get a better game in these kiosks.

San Andreas is BY FAR the best game in the series. There is so much to do and see. I love it.
