Dec 11th 2007 2:55PM (Joystiq)'The Cell' director to helm Condemned-related movie [update]
Aug 16th 2007 10:00PM (Joystiq)The only thing going for it is that it's not a hallowed franchise like Resident Evil or DOOM where the fanboys are going to rip apart ANY script that comes out. My worry is that the market is already flooded with lame horror films, so do we really need one tied to a video game IP?

Primary ownership would remain on behalf of the students who created the game concept.

Nov 8th 2006 3:28AM (Joystiq)"Real World" game genres like many of the GTA/sandbox games and most of the current sports titles are giving you as many "real-world" scenarios as possible, yet they seem to be getting more unrealistic.
The real issue for a next-gen games depends on whether it lies in the technical achievements and capabilities of title or in its execution. For Gears, I'd go with its execution.

Voltron, SpongeBob, ad nasuem....
Most cartoon IPs get approved because:
A. They can be licensed for toy/merch sales.
B. They already have the toy or video game and are trying to "extend" the brand.
Scan a local Target or Toys R Us for how many cartoon-to-toy crossovers out there.
