Capcom and Ubisoft partner to port to PC

Feb 2nd 2006 1:30AM (Joystiq)
PC means WINTEL right? when PC game announcements are made now, I just wonder if these ports will also move over to the MAC platform?

just read your PS3 article as well...my thoughts on its launch:

we know Blue Ray players are coming out starting May 2006...right now, there's not much awareness of high-def players, atleast to the level of DVD 5 years back...I suspect, Sony will aggressively push the expensive Blue Ray players and disks starting May and then try to create an impact by launching PS3 to properly impress on holiday shoppers that their machine has that bit of expensive tech. that can play high-def movies at a very low cost...based on that, I think you can expect a simultaneous Japan and USA launch later this year...not in the summer...expect a lot of Blue Ray pimping in the summer...

Microsoft working on plans for portable gaming device

Jan 26th 2006 8:41AM (Joystiq)
the article mentions a couple of nice tid bits...note these issues:

- attaching it to the Xbox brand
- pissing off the portable device makers who use MS DRM etc etc

I'll conclude that MS plans to pull and N-Gage only avoiding all its pitfalls...it won't be a graphical powerhouse like the PSP...but it'll be a media player and casual game player at the same time with heavy heavy connections to Xbox Live...

but they won't call it the Xbox handheld...they'll position it in the digital player market against iPods etc with games as an added advantage and use this to drive Xbox 360 sales as well...

I can bet you that they don't plan on losing even a cent on this device...and I'm not sure of this but there's a possibility that they'll partner with Nokia to make this device...

they don't want to go up against the DS or PSP AT ALL...this'll just be a casual device with convergence written all over it...

Sanrasoft's new solution for PDA anti-virus

Dec 28th 2005 6:17AM (Engadget)
i don't really know if the product will be as good as they say it is...if it were that small and just monitors file states, wouldn't Microsoft (or other OS vendors) just implement something similar in its native form in the OS...or least of all they could have simply bought out this company...plus, false positives would seem to be a huge drawback with such a technology...
