First Guitar Hero: Van Halen trailer released, leaves us wanting for more

Aug 9th 2009 5:44PM (Joystiq)
I have no problem with only David vs. Sammy but Wolfgang instead of Michael Anthony? Come on! It was also interesting to see the shots at the start of the clip which showed a younger Eddie playing with his full grown son. Shouldn't Wolfgang be 3 or 4 years old at best in those shots during that era? 25 songs? Looks like I'll get this used from e-Bay six months from now.

Activision finally confirms Guitar Hero: Van Halen

So if they are going to have all of the members with Dave on vocals who is the bassist? Michael Anthony or fat Wolfgang who currently tours with them.

Zeppelin's Jimmy Page uncomfortable lending master recordings to rhythm games

Jul 5th 2008 5:00PM (Joystiq)
I don't think selling out is the issue. Led Zeppelin has released a number of remastered discs and combo box sets over the past few years along with DVD sets as well. Throw in some Cadillac commercials and other merchandising and Zeppelin is still one of the top money makers in the music business today. I think that the issue is that Jimmy Page is one of the most notorious control freaks when it comes to their material. An example of this was the DVD set that they issued a year or so back when instead of just giving the go ahead for someone to use the footage and put together a DVD he personnaly sifted through and edited and mixed all the footage and music. This has been true of all of the music releases as well. Perhaps he wants to retain the same control for the video game and those firms see that might end up being too expensive on the production side.

Wii Warm Up: People all over the world, start a hype train

Feb 24th 2008 5:44PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The buzz at the senior centers about the Bob Ross Joy of Painting game is out of control....

For every Wii sold in December, 8.1 games were sold with it

Jan 26th 2008 2:07AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
As anyone who has seen the e-Bay listings for Wii systems knows us Wii owners count the games a little differently. With Wii Sports you get 5 games and if you buy Wii Play that's another 9 games for a total of 14. If one out of three people buy Wii Play to go with their system the 8 games total seems about right.

Microsoft's new Zunes go live

It's too bad they don't have "Zune Guy" as one of the artwork options so you could get your Zune tatooed with him.

An apology, and a note on hype

Sep 8th 2006 2:56PM (Joystiq)
Is this processor story and so called apology just a last minute cover-up for the real news that was just to hot to post? I don't want to start conspiracy theories or run up the hype machine again but this just all seems a bit suspicious.

Perhaps there is a new Sega console (with XMAS delivery) after all. Dreamcast 2 anyone?
