Fox and MGM expand Blu-ray exclusive offerings

Aug 21st 2007 12:38PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I can't wait to get Die Hard 4 on BD because I only have one other BD movie and that's Full Metal Jacket. I may also get Prison Break but that depends on the price of that one.

Blu-ray outsells HD DVD 2:1; 72% of PS3 owners own Blu-ray movie

Aug 17th 2007 2:56PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I have around close to 100 DVD's and only one BD movie that was on sale for about around 20 bucks at that time. I had the 360's HD-DVD add-on but I returned it about a week later because to me it felt like Microsoft just tacked the thing on just to have another way to rival Sony in another way then just on the video game front.

PS3 Poll Police: Will you get the retail version of Warhawk or download?

Aug 5th 2007 11:04PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I would buy the retail version because I don't have a credit card and I don't want one and Sony is not bringing the PSN money cards to NA anytime soon.

First English footage of Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

Etna's voice in this one sounds a lot more higher then in the last two games and the anime she was in. I hope they don't really change much in this one.

Best Buy offers extra battery with PSP purchase

Jun 25th 2007 3:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I'm waiting if there is information of a new model of the PSP that gets released at E3 because my last one just got stolen over the weekend at school and I sunk a lot of money in to the first one and right now to me it makes no since to buy the pistol sized one when Sony may talk about the new one at E3.

If there is talk from Sony that their is a new system coming soon I will wait. If not I guess I'm buying another one.

Square Enix CEO calls PS3 and Xbox 360 "over-engineered"

Jun 12th 2007 3:26PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Sounds like Square is having problems with the PS3 and 360 and are useing Nintendo's two systems to fall back on for money. Even though they (and everybody too) know that Nintendo's systems are dirt cheap when it comes to making games for a quick buck because of the lack of effort needed to make a game for those systems.

Why do you think Nintendo gets so much games for it's systems? Even though for the Wii right now it's just Gamecube game ports also mini-games and for the DS quite a lot of it is just Shovelware from companeys like Disney also looking to make a fast buck and some of the time a gimmick game I herd on 1 UP Yours there's one coming soon for the DS in Japan and may come out here depending how well the Japanese sales go.

Square can keep on saying what they are saying but eveybody knows that they are just looking for cash like any other company. They are just wording it diffrent.

God I can't wait for when developers can stop bitching about how hard it is to make games for the PS3. I would ask them if I had the chance "If you are bitching about how hard it is to make a game for a new system why are you even making games in the first place?". I relly think the developers should know that systems get updated with new tech to keep them up to date and also add new features on them as well. It's the same for eveybody who uses computers things get upgraded. This feels like what happoned with the PS2 (or was it the PSX) when developers companed about how hard it was to work with the system and look where the system went when people learned their way around the system.

Saturday PSP background explosion

Jun 3rd 2007 1:15AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Ew! AnimePaper. No offence to anybody but that site is not the best background site around. I only used them twice and that was because they expected you to sign up just to download the computer background sizes and then afterwords make the user do a forced "contribution" just to keep on getting the ablity to get wallpaper. Not worth my time overall.

And what's the bet's I can find that same Urahara Shōten wallpaper cheap as free to use for a computer background with no restrictions or sign up's?

Firmware 1.80 up for downloads, our opinions also available

May 24th 2007 10:59AM (Joystiq Playstation)
After I added the update my PS3 I looked on the menu of the cross bar and my Windows computer code showed up on the menus for media and also Windows it's self showed that it found a new media hub to start streaming to that I just need to set it up.

It was quite easy to finish the set-up I just had to enter in the settings to Windows Media Player's media sharing of what I wanted to share with the PS3 (all of my media) and now I'm streaming Depeche Mode to my PS3. I also tried playing video as well and you need to have the videos in the MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 format or MP4/AVC video as well I can guess.

And all of this works on PSP's remote play as well and I even tried streaming the PS3 from my router and it works you just need to be signed in to the PSN for this. This update makes me quite happy and makes the PS3 more like a true media hub so I don't need to use my mag sticks to transfer music, movies and photos to the PS3 anymore. I can't wait until they come out with the update that I can have my own background and my own PSN picture that comes from my pictures menu on the PS3. But this is a very good start none the less for the PS3 of getting what people wanted from the system in the first place.

Dash Update springs onto Live

Does anybody know how to turn off or reduce the Black Level because I don't like it dark. I like the display the way it was before the update.

Sony is 61 years old today!

May 8th 2007 1:46AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I love my PSP as well. I use it to play videos when I'm at work when I want to watch last nights Colbert Report because I find it more user friendly then the iPod when it comes to adding and removing videos same goes for music that I still use it for at times.

I also am getting a lot of use from my PS3 both as a game console and as a movie player and I'm getting in to liking their line of alarm clocks (Dream Machine I think they are called) as well because of how easy it is to set up the clock and alarms. And also because I can set it to play a CD for the alarm. No more hearing the stupid ramblings of the radio DJ to get up. :D
