CoD4 was an amazing, timeless, critically acclaimed game for a number of reasons. The single player story mode was amazing, easily the best single player war fps game of all time. Some of the futuristic style fps' allow for "better" stories, but in terms of realism and "oh shit" moments, CoD4 was better than all. And yes, the multiplayer (i still prefer CoD4 to W@W) is amazing as well. The reason there is so much hype for this game (well deserved) is because CoD4 was an amazing single AND multiplayer game. Adding in more "airplane" type missions, that you can co-op with, icing on the cake. Infinity Ward will not let us down (all of us: pve, pvp).
