Breakfast Topic: What's the next big change?
Aug 23rd 2011 9:48AM (WoW)We need Buyer-Side Auctions
A player looking to buy something posts the item they are looking for, the quantity and the maximum amount they would be willing to pay. These auctions can be posted for the same lengths of time as normal auctions.
Sellers can browse through the looking to buy ads and bid on items with the lowest amount they would be willing to pay. Sellers can go back and forth undercutting each other. When the auction closes, the lowest priced sellers bid is accepted and the transaction is complete.
At any time during the auction, the buyer can review the sellers offers and accept one, closing the auction (a sort of buy it now option). Maybe the buyer can also set a reserve price, lower than their maximum price (this reserve price would be hidden to the sellers). when the a seller bids a price lower than the reserve, the auction automatically closes
This would make both buying and selling on the AH more dynamic as well as provide a quality of life upgrade for all players. Instead of constantly checking the auction house or spamming WTB in the trade channel for an elusive item or stack of low level mats, you can post a looking for ad and have sellers compete to sell you their items.

Jun 15th 2010 6:37PM (Joystiq)I agree with a lot of what you have to say, except I think Kinetic will outperform move in sales, and here is my reasoning:
1- There are more Xbox 360's out there, meaning there is a larger customer base
2- Granted we don't know the price of Kinect yet but if the rumor of $150 is true, I think that will play a part in the decision. The base price of entry for 1 person in Move is $100. If you want to play with 4 people, you will be paying at least $250.
