There are so many moments to like in the series. I really enjoyed the closing moments of Zero Mission though. Not the ZSS parts, but when you get the Gravity Suit and the music gets all epic and you become this unstoppable war machine. I think the fact your powerless for a while really makes you aware of how souped up your gear is at the end. Awesome.

In regards to the economy, I have no idea. A complete overhaul, at this point, seems like not such a bad move.
