Why is this at all surprising or disappointing? Isn't this exactly what people expect when they hear the word co-op in relation to a game? The ability to play through the campaign with a buddy is what I WANT in co-op, not some specially made multiplayer mode. And the only game in recent memory that was designed to have you play through the story with a friend sucked, or so I was told (Army of Two).

@eat it That's not exactly true, not if you're playing on the console version. EA uses their servers to HOST every game they sell. Even on the 360. There is no peer to peer. So EA is actually playing for much more than just a login server, they are paying for the servers you play on and all of the bandwidth that requires.

Honestly, I'm amazed that they were missing to begin with. They seemed like staples.

@theSkillfull1 Ya, except I'm pretty sure the demons have always been aliens. Even in Doom 3. Just that, they were more of an extra dimensional alien as opposed to an alien from outerspace.
