Feb 3rd 2012 4:27PM (Massively)This largely sums up my dissatisfaction with most current MMOs. I miss the types games that weren't afraid to punish you for failure, and where rewards were often few and far between, but felt meaningful when you achieved them.
I'm not saying all MMOs should be like this, of course, but for those of us who prefer such types of games, there aren't many options these days.

Jan 10th 2012 8:15PM (Joystiq)Bethesda settles all Fallout IP related lawsuits
Jan 9th 2012 7:51PM (Joystiq)This gets mentioned repeatedly in relation to this topic, but it bears repeating. The Interplay we remember from the past has little, if any, relation to the company involved in this settlement.
Brian Fargo is currently with inXile Entertainment, Tim Cain is working with Obsidian Entertainment, Rebecca Heineman is with Sony, etc.
The often mentioned Fallout MMO developed by the current Interplay would likely bear little resemblance to the early Fallout games, or even the more current Bethesda games.
As such, I feel this settlement is for the best. I loved the original Interplay games, and even enjoyed the more recent iteration of the franchise. However, any MMO developed by what is in name only Interplay, would likely only result in disappointment for any fans of the series.
