All the games will be rendered in 480p natively and then upscaled to 1080p this will keep all Wii games backward compatible as they will need to be. This is congruent with ps3/360 strategies most games are rendered a low resolution and then unconverted or upscaled. All virtual console games can be imported with the SD card from wii to wii hd. Nintendo will not necessarily be about new wii adoption so much as upgraders. But I think that this system will attract more hardcore gamers because of the promise of better graphic performance, Check out the Dolphin emu to get a taste of wii hd as you will see wii upscales beautifully. There maybe 1 more revision of the wii before the next console. Wii HD will restart the Wii's momentum. Some will see it as a gimmick. It will be an improvement to everything about the wii.

I think that with this revision you with have the same chip architecture but faster maybe 1 to 2 ghz cpu and 400 mhz gpu with 256 megs of ram.in order to render wii games at HD resolutions which is all this will be. There wont be games specifically made for wii HD but there could be patches downloaded to make current and future wii games look better on wii hd such as texture packs. In terms of the controller wii hd will have a wii-mote with integrated wii plus. Wii HD will aesthetically smaller and more premium and feel very sold we may all so get a new classic controller that doesn't have to be tethered and will be completely wireless so we could loose the GC ports but may retain one GC memory card slot. Also Wii HD will launch at 249.00 if the ps3 and 360 are still at 299 but they may not be so we could see all three at 199.00.
