Swag Sunday: Oh, Nostalgia (DS) [update]

Jan 17th 2010 7:43PM (Joystiq)
I bought a huge number of old games on Steam during their holiday sale and have started playing through the old Star Wars Dark Forces games. That is bringing back some major nostalgia.

Twitter Pro -- one year later, same request: take my money for less down time

May 23rd 2008 9:00PM (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
10m users? Twitter has about 1.5 users (http://twitterfacts.blogspot.com/2008/05/15-million-twitter-users.html) and likely less than half those are active. Best case scenario, there's ~600k active users. 1% of 600k is 6k users who might pay for a pro service. So we're talking about $1.5m. Still a nice chunk of change, but nowhere near $25m.

Definitely Jade from Beyond Good and Evil. Intelligent and independent. And she could probably kick my ass. :D

Fanswag: Win a new Darth Vader PSP-2000 (Day 1)

Evidently it has a really good framerate, but also is "hilariously easy". I don't suppose that's an acceptable combination of qualities.

Big trend coming out of TechCrunch40: data normalization services

I don't understand what the big deal about Mint is. Isn't it just like MS Money, or Quicken? Is it just the fact that it's a web-based MS Money that's giving it all the focus? Maybe I have to play around with it to see where the real value is.

ESRB does its job, industry discovers regulations

Aug 2nd 2007 10:33AM (Joystiq)
That wasn't a dig at Duke Nukem Forever. The ESRB is referring to the fact that 3D Realms is a developer, not a publisher, and therefore lacks experience in submitting games to the ESRB. You said it yourself in the post when you wrote: "Miller was upset because he says his publishers handle all the rating stuff..."

"Flight Game" coming to Revolution

Apr 19th 2006 3:26PM (Joystiq)
Yay. All they've ever done are mobile games for cell phones. I'm sure this Revolution game will be of the highest quality available.
