Where's FFTA2? :p

PSP is 'gateway drug' to other Sony hardware

May 23rd 2008 6:11PM (Joystiq)
I have a PSP, and it's meh at best. I mean, I do use it and enjoy it, but it hasn't done a thing to make me want a PS3. Then again, that could be that of Gamespot's top 10 games for the PS3, I can get 9 of them on my 360.

Video Games Live shows scheduled for 25 cities

I too have my tickets for the Calgary one. Two sets of them, actually, since the CPO made an oopsie and sent me two sets of tickets for the same seats. Go figure.

Hooray for second row dead center in the first balcony.

"I'm sorry, what is the Canadian tax rate? Oh yeah, like 90%. How is all that "free" stuff now?"

For consumer goods in Alberta, which is where I am, there is no provincial tax, so we only pay the federal tax of 6%.

You know, which is less than or equal to 19 states in the USA (thank you http://www.taxadmin.org/FTA/rate/sales.html). Hardly the "90%" you're throwing around.

The maritimes get it the worst, with HST of up to 15-16%. But if you've ever been there, particularly Newfoundland, you'd know things are a little... different... there.

Worms not on XBLA this week, still being certified

Ok, say the skunk doesn't affect gameplay, but how can say that you're not effecting gameplay when you remove one of the best close range weapons (on open maps), the weapon that makes the biggest boom, and one of the few strategy items? Come on.

All of a sudden, forgetting about this and going back to Worms World Party on the PS1 or Worms Armageddon on the PC is looking more appealing.

Mac game releases slow in 2006

Dec 6th 2006 8:14PM (Joystiq)
What #10 said. I have an iBook and an iMac that I use for all my e-mail, instant messaging, word processing, grahpics stuff, web design work, etc, and a PC that I assembled myself to play keyboard/mouse games on, as well as do a little bit of game development. Now, that said, I use consoles (360, Wii, and PS2) to play a very large majority of my games, and have less than a dozen I use on the PC.

The Macs are for productivity and where I keep stuff that I can't afford to lose. The PC is for fooling around on.

Now, that said, I wouldn't be adverse to play games on the Mac, but when one thinks "Oh! Let's go out to a store and buy a Mac game!", nowhere really comes to mind right away. I would think the more obvious places probably carry a few, but if you don't want to be ordering online, it's a LOT (borderline infinately) harder to find a Mac game than a PC game.

Where have all the nunchuks gone? [update 1]

Nov 19th 2006 4:55PM (Joystiq)
I went to the Wal-mart at Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary, and they had 55 Wiis, maybe 20 Wiimotes, around 10 nunchucks, and around 15 classic controllers.

Not that it was a problem for me, since I was first in line :)

The biggest beef I had with it (and really, I have very, very few beefs - the store had the procedure set and it ran incredibly smoothly) was that their selection of games was BAD. They had maybe seven different games, and no more than maybe 20 of each of those 7.

But again, being first, I didn't really care. I got my Zelda, Madden, Monkey Ball, and Excitetruck. I do have to find Trauma Center elsewhere though.

Girl in Austin not sure about PS3, waits in line for fun

@45 Preach it brother!

It was 7C (44F) in Calgary today, which is the warmest it's been all week. The lowest it got over the course of the week was -11C (12F). Right now, it's 2C (36F), and the campers here can be expecting -6C (21F) overnight tonight.

And for us, that's really not that bad - it could be a heck of a lot worse. *looking forward to the -5C / 23F he'll be facing with his pals Saturday night*

ESRB approves Mario RPG, 12 more VC titles

Nov 9th 2006 1:10AM (Joystiq)
I would get SMRPG except that, well.. *hugs his copy of the SNES cartridge*
I would get Zelda: OoT except that, well... *hugs his copy of the 'cube Zelda Collector's Edition*
I would get Excitebike except that - oh no, wait, I am SO getting Excitbike. And Kirby. And Ice Hockey. And Simcity. And probably Starfox. And probably Mario Kart.

*shakes fist at Nintendo* Stop forcing me to part with my money! ;_;
