Sony's Dyer predicts more games for PlayStation Motion Controller than Natal

More Games Doesn't mean Better games...amirite?

Wii Warm Up: Do you feel abandoned?

Jul 29th 2008 11:50AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think that since Nintendo chose the non-traditional path for the advancement of videogames, (i.e. not based on specs or graphical prowess) that Nintendo chose also the non-traditional gamer. Though this has proven to be successful, I tend to believe that their core franchises would be better served on MS and/or Sony's platforms. My Wii has all but collected dust since Twilight Princess. It is sad when I play my Xbox 360 and I think of what the real "next-gen" consoles can do with graphics and gameplay, that an overglorified gamecube with a motion controller can do. As impressed with Twilight Princess that I am, I would have liked to see more 1st party titles for the core gamer. Every game tends to turn into a short-lived party game that you get excited about at first, and then stop playing shortly after. Even Mario Party isn't much of a Party anymore. It's Nintendo's choice, and it wasn't a bad business decision....they just need to know they can't hold on to the core gamer with this strategy.

GHIII to get a three pack of Muse DLC

GHIII to get a three pack of Muse DLC

May 2nd 2008 12:51PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Oh my gosh SoxFan13, You are so right.

GHIII gets good songs but they are so few and far between. Rock band gets songs all the time, but they vary in style, so one week you want a song, the next you don't. I wish they would come out with more songs each week from different time periods and styles of music. This way there is always something for everyone.

Rock band is a better game however, and deserves more good music, and 1 album a month is not enough either.

Valve: No Portal sequel in 2008

Apr 25th 2008 6:46PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Generally people agree that Call of Duty 4 was way better than Call of Duty 3. COD3 was rushed out and capitalized on the success of COD2. IW did a great job with COD4...imo...therefore my comment that I would rather the sequel be like a COD4 sequel than a COD3 sequel. Regardless of your opinion, you understand my meaning.

Valve: No Portal sequel in 2008

This is a good thing. We want the next Portal to be a COD4 not a COD3. Besides, it will be good!

Splinter Cell and Metal Arms become Xbox Originals

Apr 21st 2008 4:26PM (Joystiq Xbox)
It's worth it to have it as a download rather than a disc...it's nice to have the portability of having all the games you own, instead of a new disc for every game. I hope XBOX 720 is all DLC for all games.

I wish my Elite had an even bigger harddrive...the next system should have like a terrabyte of storage, and the whole xbox and 360 game catalogue should be available for DLC on Day one. Also all games will be downloadable, and it wont have a DVD drive of any sort. I would like that. Also built in wi-fi...the only plugs on that thing should be HDMI and POWER. Done.

Blu-ray Xbox 360 add-on rumor resurfaces

Mar 7th 2008 2:30PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Or how about giving us the option to download the movies permenantly, to own them outright, delete, and download again later for free. If it's 5 bucks to rent a movie for 24 hours, then why not 20 to own the movie, disc free, in HD. If they did this, I think it would seem like a more lucrative deal for the consumer. They would be more likely to replace DVD sales if people didn't just see them as an "on demand" service. One that sometimes is less "on demand" than cable or satelite.

Lawyer behind Xbox Live suit speaks out

Jan 16th 2008 3:12PM (Joystiq Xbox)
If you can sue MS for technical difficulties on a service that you are paying for.....

Can you sue the cable company for all the times the cable goes out?

Can you sue the Phone company when your internet connection goes down?

Can you sue a bank when an ATM is out of order?

Legally no. Why? Read the Terms of Service that you agree to when you sign up for Xbox Live...

"Microsoft reserves complete and sole discretion with respect to the operation of the Service. Microsoft may, among other things: (a) restrict or limit access to the Service; (b) retrieve information from the original Xbox, Xbox 360 console, personal computer and any connected peripheral device used to log onto the Service as necessary to operate and protect the security of the Service, and to enforce this Agreement; and (c) upgrade, modify, withdraw, suspend, or discontinue any functionality or feature of the Service or any game from time to time without notice, which may involve the automatic download of related software directly to your original Xbox, Xbox 360 console or personal computer, and which software may prevent you from accessing the Service, playing pirated games, or using unauthorized peripheral devices."

Because of this, paragraph, they have the rights to provide no service whatsoever, even though you are paying for it. Cable and internet companies cover their butts in the same way.
