Confused Chevy HHR thinks it's a Mercedes

Jan 24th 2008 5:29PM (Autoblog)
How embarrassing, the decal on the back is for Anaheim Hills Auto Body, located in Southern California. I live about a 10-minute drive away from there...

Fun with the Armory

Mar 2nd 2007 4:59PM (WoW)
There are people on the forums complaining about how this can give opponents (especially in the arena) an unfair advantage, but both sides have the freedom to look up their opponents' info (if they can survive long enough to pull up the pages and formulate a custom strategy). On the other hand, I can see how people can get pissed if they were told they got rejected because "I looked up your talent tree and you spec'd like a n00b."

How about this? Why not have a login for the armory, and lock out access if you're logged into the game at the same time? I know there's ways to "get around" that kind of restriction, but it'll be more trouble than its worth for most people.

eBay giving virtual item auctions the boot

Jan 29th 2007 12:31PM (Joystiq)
I don't think Blizzard has to worry about eBay's policy, because I seriously doubt they'd ever sell any in-game item themselves, for charity or otherwise.

They can auction off all the autographed games and customized computers/laptops/hardware they want, but I don't ever see when they'd ever auction an in-game item for the same reason argued in the article: do players truly own their in-game items? By auctioning an in-game item, Blizzard would be acknowledging that the players have ownership of their items and would be going completely against eBay's efforts.

Today's (next) hottest game video: Wii remote range

Nov 29th 2006 12:37PM (Joystiq)
The distance shown in that video seems somewhat long for Bluetooth (v1, that is), but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Although I didn't go as far as that guy did, I've verified that the Wiimote can go beyond the "range" of the sensor bar and transmit signals just fine.

Gamestop selling some Wii games early

For those of you who are curious what's inside Trauma Center, I uploaded a video a few days ago of myself opening one:

Nikon D40 officially announced

Nov 16th 2006 3:02AM (Engadget)
Got a D50 this January, the previous incarnation of this camera, and I've loved every minute of using it. Although it may not have some of the "hardcore" features of the $2k+ cameras, you can't go wrong with a Nikon DSLR at this price, given its features. As one site I frequent puts it: "It does 99% of what most DSLR users want of it".

Anybody who's thought about taking the DSLR plunge, this is the camera to do it with!

SMART fortwo officially unveiled in Stuttgart: highrez shots and video

Nov 9th 2006 1:13PM (Autoblog)
I actually spotted one of these while driving in Southern California earlier this week, and I must say, it's rekindled my interest. The mileage is a huge bonus. Hybrid mileage without the hassle of hybrid technology? I think it's great. (Of course, this comment is just SLIGHTLY biased, me being a Mercedes fan and all...)

Wii anticipation: preparing a room

Nov 1st 2006 10:57PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
ecto311, just place the sensor bar centered against the screen, either above or below the screen area. From the menu demo posted on IGN last week, you just need to make sure your Wii is configured correctly for the placement, and that should be it.

Wii anticipation: preparing a room

Nov 1st 2006 8:43PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Don't need to make additional space, but I DO need to set up wireless access. My router is located in my room, which is on the opposite end of the house from the TV.

Sony has 40 e-Distribution projects in pipeline, PS3's new focus?

Nov 1st 2006 6:13PM (Joystiq)
Sony Sez: "And again, the PlayStation 3 is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes."
