Comcast, TWC and Cablevision make friendly, team up for NYC-wide WiFi

Apr 16th 2010 10:25AM (Engadget)
@JeremyBenthem

i remember when i thought that way once. i did. but then i had to pray that everywhere i went had wifi, where every place has a different network name, and a different login method, and a weak signal and usually i could load google and then facebook before the connection dropped. then i had two options. i could either spend my time searching for a different network, or move to the other side of the building. instead, most time i just gave up.

yeah, im just saying that i bit the bullet for a 3G phone and im glad i did. even living on a college campus with one of the most powerful engineering networks in the country, the small amount of time i was off campus killed me.

Apple teases Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (update)

Apr 13th 2010 12:07PM (Engadget)
i really wish they didnt side with displayport. hdmi makes so much more sense. apples all about keeping the connectors small on the side of the computer, and really hdmi is small enough. and theres mini hdmi!

i do understand them trying to move away from vga, though...

Google buys Plink, puts it to work on Google Goggles

Apr 12th 2010 9:40PM (Engadget)
@SaggyBalls
what?! no!

a.) maybe you see the paining in a textbook or magazine or something
b.) if you actually are in a museum all those stupid little signs say are things like "Starry Night. van Gogh. 1889."

besides, the idea for this goes way further than just paintings. i say if anything can help to improve google goggles, so much the better. this will probably help improve goggle's image recognition on many things, not just paintings...
