Weapons upgrades in Ratchet & Clank Future
Sep 14th 2007 1:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)Raritanium also drops off of enemies, though in far lower quantity in comparison to Bolts. Raritanium is only used for the weapon upgrade board.
Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'
Mar 26th 2007 9:15AM (Joystiq)But if that's the case, if I come in there looking for a copy, they sure as hell better not sell it to me at the same price as a new, unopened copy.
I don't care how well they treat those games. They could unwrap a new game, take the CD and put it in a museum display case with armored guards around it, put the instruction manual in Fort Knox in a sealed container, and I still wouldn't care. Y'know why? Because the moment they broke the seal on the game, it's officially used.
Why not? If *I* were to do the same thing, that's the rule they'd hold me to. I could buy a brand new game, walk out of the store, break the seal on the game, then walk right back in 30 seconds later and try to return it. They'll only accept it as a used title. Why? Because the seal is broken and it's officially "used". Even though I've only been gone for 30 seconds, even if they see me break the seal on the game, even if they know there's no possibility I've played the game... they won't take it back as new.
So I sure as hell won't let them do the same thing to me. Homie don't play that.
You can argue all you want that this is store policy. Fine by me. You can argue all you want that this is the only option available to them. Also fine by me. But the moment they try and pass that game back to me as "new", I call shenanigans. They've basically had that box on their shelves for weeks (if not months). They've been using MY game box. They've had my game disc outside of its box. If that's the case, they darn well better be offering me a few bucks off the game, because they've been using it before I did.
And that's the beef for me. If anyone uses the game, the game box, or the manual before me, it clearly is NOT new. It doesn't matter if anyone played it or not.
PSP still hasn't reversed Nintendo's handheld dominance
Feb 27th 2007 2:47PM (Joystiq)That may be true, but that's not what holds the PSP back. The fact of the matter is, the content on the PSP is severely lacking. Even now, almost two years after the system launch, I still only own 5 PSP games. The games on the PSP just aren't that amazing.
Metroid Prime 3 delayed until later this year?
Feb 16th 2007 1:40PM (Joystiq)Mario Party 8 got bumped back to second quarter, with no reason offered for the delay. It's been confirmed by a Nintendo rep.

So much for that constant stream of first party games that was supposed to avoid a drought. :/
