Nexuiz brings the twitch back to FPS on XBLA

Jan 16th 2012 10:06AM (Joystiq)
I was a big Nexuiz player back in it's open source days, and even built a few maps for it. EXTREMELY fun game back then, but there is simply no way this game is going to translate to console/controller and still be even remotely similar to the original. Nexuiz was so fast/twitchy that it make Quake III Arena look slow in comparison. The only other game nearly as fast was Warsow. I'm not one of those guys who thinks that all FPS games suck on console, but there is simply no way you are going to convince me that a twitch shooter of this speed would work on a controller.

Gears of War 3 causing some Xboxes to grind to a halt [Update: Epic responds]

Another illiterate imbecile. First, this is not causing a RROD. Second, this is causing a problem within the game, not a failure of the Xbox. It's funny how you're too stupid and too lazy to read, but you have no problem typing out your misinformed opinion.

An imbecile with a keyboard. Joystiq should permaban anyone who makes 5 posts that are voted down to oblivion. That would get rid of stupid kids like this.

I had a problem with GoW3 also, but not this one. I played through campaign and finished the game. I then redeemed a 30 day XBLG card so I could play multiplayer, and logged in to Live. The next time I started GoW3, the game downloaded an update (which is obviously normal and common for a lot of games). However, when the update was finished installing, it corrupted my completed single-player game. It then told me that I had to erase the save game because it was corrupted. So I lost all the work I put in to Campaign. Not the biggest deal, but still pretty annoying considering the time I put into it.

Adobe's CEO: 'we've moved on' from Apple's argument, and Flash still rules

@APV

The Flex SDK is free, you fecking moron. In case you're ignorant ass doesn't know what that is, it's the MXML/Actionscript compiler...COMPLETELY FREE. The problem isn't with Adobe. The problem is that you opened your mouth and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Oh one other thing...HTML5 doesn't belong to Apple.

I cannot describe how badly I wish we could just exile unintelligent people like APV. Send them to the middle of the Sahara and let them die. I get so tired of dealing with them every day.

You hope it has enough apps to compete? What are you smoking? It's a Windows tablet. Any Windows program ever written will run on it. It has more apps than every other OS combined (mobile or otherwise).

You can bet your ass they're up to something. The way they are talking about "public internet" instead of just referring to it as "the internet" is a huge red flag. You can also bet that neither one gives a rat's ass about net neutrality. It's all about the money, and I get the feeling that they are laying the groundwork here for some future scam.

Mark Papermaster leaves Apple for reasons and destinations unknown (update)

@SCXFAN

Wrong. As with any organized company, you hire "experts" to take charge of different facets of the product design. It's impossible for any one person to intimately know the science of every facet of something as complex as an iPhone. You have to do your best to find the right people and then you have to hand them responsibilities and trust that they will get the job done. If this guy is in charge of the antenna, then he has proven himself incompetent and needs to be let go.

ASUS planning an 8-inch grayscale LCD e-reader for October, pricing expected 'under $599'

I'm sure this is incorrect info. It can't be in US Dollars. There is no way Asus is that foolish.

Does anyone else love the first sentence of this article? It's so nice.
